Accountability

So I have never EVER done something like this before. I have lost some weight since the summer has begun, but it isn't enough. I don't have enough money to join weight watchers or anything like that, since I just graduated from college. I do, however, need some accountability in my life, and hopefully this site will provide that.

I will admit I have been a creeping around on here since November and I finally worked up enough courage (rahr!) to fully join by writing something about myself and putting it all out there.

By the end of summer I want to have lost 10% of my body weight (close to 20 lbs) and by the end of the year I would have like to have lost close to 30-40 lbs. It is hopeful, but I really do believe that I can do it.

My workout plan is actually not really a diet. I want to complete a triathlon in September, and by training for it I hope that that can be my workout. So far I am up to a 5K running, 5K biking and absolutely no swimming (gasp, a swimsuit!). I am following a plan found in "The Triathlete's Training Bible" and hopefully I can complete everything!

My diet is the hardest part. That is why I'm here, to absorb what people around me are trying, what to work on, and learn from others.

That was a long introduction and I doubt anyone will respond, but HI! I am going to start a diary for myself more than for others, and if I meet some great people on the way then YAY! I hope to do that tomorrow and start putting some more of myself out there!

If you read this than thank you! And good luck!

Welcome to the forums,

I'm new as well but had to say hi when I saw the name. I'm an osu grad. Graduated two years ago with a degree in marketing. GO BUCKS. Did you go to osu?

There seems to be a lot of good advice and people on the forums for support. Good luck with your journy. I've actually always kinda wanted to do a triathlon myself but never pushed myself hard enough (the swimming would be the hardest for me... I have never learned good swimming form).

Welcome!!! I guess I'm curious as to whether you went to OSU as well??? I just graduated a couple of weeks ago from there with a degree in Health Sciences. :)

Thank you so much!!

I actually just graduated too! Wasn't Brian Williams awesome?!?! I got a degree in Microbiology and Business, but sadly I am unemployed :p

Thanks for the support hopefully I can do the swimming part too, that's what I'm most scared about!! The running wasn't too bad, I started with a couch to 5K program and worked my way up!

I really do think that all of those bars in gateway and downtown have contributed to the way I am! haha

Brian Williams was awesome. He was really funny. The heat was ridiculous though!! You'll be able to do the swimming for sure. How often have you been running??

And yeah Gateway and downtown probably did play a role! I know if I didn't go out all the time, it'd be much easier for me to maintain my weight! Going out is so fun though... :)

Are you in Columbus all summer?

Thanks, hopefully the swimming will come along. I am going to be in Columbus! I joined the RPAC for the summer and I am swimming there on some mornings (haven't found my groove).

I started running every other day, three days a week after Spring Break at the RPAC. When it got warm out I moved to Fred Beekman (sp?) Park. Which by the way is the worst park EVER to run at because it seems like everyone you know drives by there!! You wouldn't believe how many people would say they saw me running, which is so embarrassing for me because back then I could barely do a mile run!!

I love Columbus in the summer!! I so badly want to get a job here so that I can stay, but we'll see!

The bars that kill me the most are Gaswerks and Mad Mex! haha :cheers2:
