About to start exercising

Hi, im about to start exercising for the first time, and was wondering if anyone could possibly direct me on what I should look out for or any tips?

I am a little overweight and never used any exercise equipment or in fact never exercised in my life. Thanks :)
 
#1 tip is start slow. Don't try to overdo it. Work up to it gradually. If you want to lose weight, focus on your diet and weight lifting. Do cardio when you can, on your weightlifting off days or after weight lifting if you feel you have the energy. If your goal is to lose weight, important thing is to try to maintain muscle mass while you do it.
