Hey there my name's Iain but everyone calls me Fatwood

I'm from Scotland originally but live in England now as that is where my job takes me. I'm in the army as a technician and I love it despite what some people might think of the army.

I havent always been fit and before I joined the army I definetly wasnt fit! at my heaviest I weight 102kg which is 16.1 Stones (i'm 6ft 2in) but after giving myself a good kicking up the backside i decided to get fit. In the army you have to be able to run 1 and 1/2 miles in less than 10mins 30secs (ideally you should be getting around 10mins) but my first attempt was at a pitiful 14mins 45secs!

I worked hard tho and in 18 months ive got that time right down as well as my weight... i now weigh 80kg and have completed an arduous endurance event and have recently taken up boxing. Ive joined this forum because I still want to lose some more weight but i'm confused about the food I should be eating.

The food here is mainly high in fat with very little nutritional value so im looking for some sound advice on the type of food and food groups i should be going for to get to my ideal weight of 11 stones

I look forward to speaking with other members and getting to know new and interesting people

Welcome to the forum! Check out the sticky threads, you'll find lots of helpful information. And if you still have questions, there are plenty of people around to help answer them.

Are you sure you want to weight 11 stone? That seems awfully low for a man of your height. I think that your current weight seems pretty good. :)

Congrats on losing 22kg--that's a lot of weight. :hurray:
