A Quick Hello

Hi Everyone,

I actually joined the forum a few days ago, and now I am finally getting around to intorducing myself. I am back on my quest for weightloss. I actually lost a lot of weight nine years ago ( about 100 pounds). I used Adkins, and it seemed soo easy. I kept most of it off for a couple of years too. Then I decided to get a teaching degree and my lifestyle changed drastically, and I got sick.
So, now I am pretty much back where I started, and rethinking the Adkins thing... I am considering the YOU program (YOU on a diet). I read some of the information on the website, and I recently saw a T.V. show on DiscoveryHealth, about the program and the doctors who wrote it. If anyone has any experience with this program or advice about it I would like to hear what you have to say.
I did get my 30 minute walk in tonight, and no matter what, that's a start.

the you ona diet plan really isn't a program like weight watchers - it's a lifestyle change plan that encourages healthy eating, avoiding refined carbs and especially HFCS,, and encourages resistance training and walking 30 minutes a day...

It's very easy to stick with...

Do read the book -it's got a lot of good info in it.

I'm reading the You:On a Diet book right now & have found it really inspiring. Seems like sensible stuff that will get me (& hopefully you) to where I need to be in a way that will be life long. I agree with Mal in that it doesn't seem like a diet in the restrictive sense most are. Just restricting the stuff that is so bad for you, like the High Fructose Corn Syrup crud. yuck who needs that stuff anyway.

Good luck & I look forward to hearing more from you as you get going in it.

Have you started a diary yet? Its a great place to trace your progress, feeling & get loads of support.
