a newbie quest.

Hi, I'm 20 years old weigh 110 and am 5'2. I just want to loose about 3 pounds in a short time. Whatever website I go to it gives me 1200 calories without exercise. Ok, I dont know if that is right, because to me that seems like a lot of calories with having to do exercise. So can someone help me.

Oh, and I also want to know how many calories I should be taking in (w/ exercise) to maintain weight. BMR website tell me around 1600. Again, that seems like a lot of calories.
 
from the experience ive had the best advice i can give is to eat plenty of foods that are low in fat (fruits, veggies, whole grains, etc.), drink lots of water, and do 30-45 minutes of cardio 3-5 times a week..and it shouldnt take very long at all to lose 3 pounds..but 1200 calories actually isnt a lot..and one of the best ways to cut back on what you eat is to go to bed a little earlier and for most people youll eat less..if youre not awake you cant be in the fridge haha! well hope this helps
 
They give people in a coma 1200 calories a day. I'm certain you move a little more than that (at least I hope so). ;) Cynic is right, follow the calculator.
