hi everyone,

I just surfed into this website today. I am a nursing student and a cna in the healthcare field. I am also about 100 pounds overweight. I recently faced a very devastating situation on a job where I was harrassed constantly about my weight. I have decided NO MORE!!!

I have opted not to have gastric bypass surgery. It is fine for those people feeling it is right for them. I want to beat the addiction to food. I have many friends who have had successful surgeries and I am thrilled for them.

I have started a exercize program and accountability group.

I'm happy to be here.
God bless,
Marcianne

Good luck with your weight loss project. 100 pounds feels like a huge task at the start - but it is perfectly achievable using a standard approach and no surgery. Lots of us here have done just that.

Firm control of your food is important. Eat healthily. Nutritional information is available on this forum. A free account from fitday may help you to evaluate the food that you eat so that you can make improvements.

Exercise also has a huge impact. I wear a pedometer all day long - counting every step of the day. I found that it challenges me and encourages me to walk more. Many experts encourage us to do at least 10,000 steps a day - but I now walk much more than that.

Welcome!

I am also new to the site and I have found that looking at everyone's before and after pics really help motivate me. I look at them everyday to make sure that I remember how many people have done it! Stay strong!
