A New Beginning.

I'm really happy that I found this site, because I've been losing a lot of motivation lately.

My name is Laura, I'm 18, and my boyfriend left for Basic but a few months a go. I'll be seeing him in one month exactly. I want to get fitter for him, and for myself... We're planning on getting married soon, and I've never imagined myself to be all blobby and fat when I get in my dress.

My family from England (I was born there) is also coming to visit in May/June time, and they have no idea that I'm overweight... I'm much too embarrassed to tell them, not to mention my best friend whose coming over is very skinny and gorgeous. I don't think I'm ugly, I think if I lost the wieght I would be just as pretty as her... but I'm not right now.

Anyway, I weigh 205 lbs right now, maybe more because I'm PMSing. My weight has been fluctuating since I started, and I feel like my progress is regressing. :) I need motivation.

Anyway, nice to meet everyone. Hope to fget to know you all very well.
 
Good luck with your weight loss and congratulations on your engagement!

Sometimes concentrating on your progress when boyfriend is away can help you get through it (I know I go insane with my hubby is away).

What are you doing to lose weight/get fit?

I have work out DVD's because It's pretty hard to run where I live, and dangerous. I have a 2 hour yoga class 2/3 times a week, also. Sometimes we do abs/walking instead.

And eating healthy. I'm already a vegetarian so I cut all meat out, obviously.
 
Sounds like a good start!

Are you counting calories in any way? Just remember the only way to lose weight is to create a calorie deficit! There is toonss about that if you read the sticky's on this board. They are very very helpful!
 
There are A LOT of websites out there that will help you count calories and they are really awesome. I'm pretty small already and I lost about 8 pounds in a month just sticking to tracking my calories online and a bit of exercise.

I think the most promoted one on here is called FitDay. We're not supposed to post links, but I'm sure if you enter it into a google search, it will come up for you!
