Hi everyone. I am new to this forum, so I figured I would kind of introduce myself.
:waving:
My name is William and I am 21 years old. I live with my girlfriend of almost 4 years and we have a beautiful 9 month old little girl together.

My whole life I haven't really eaten right. I have always been "bigger", I am 6 foot tall with a "wide-bulky" build. In high school I was about 240 lbs (give or take)

When my GF got pregnant is when my weight gain really started to accelerate. So now, I am roughly 310 lbs and I am always tired and never feel like doing anything. My family tells me I should eat salads, but I absolutely HATE lettuce so salads are never an option for me.

I want to change my habits by starting to exercise more and eating healthier. Mainly for my daughter, I don't want to be out of breathe after running 5 feet.

GOALS FOR ME:
Short-term goal: lose 10-20 lbs
Mid-term goal: lost 30+ lbs by 2011
Long term goal: Get down to about 220 lbs (which is still considered overweight for a 6 foot tall guy, but I have a big "build", so 220 seems right I think) by next summer

Are those safe / realistic goals?

Well, theres my intro I guess. lol. Thanks for having me.

It is generally considered safe to lose 1 percent or so of your current weight per week. Do the math.
You really should get your quota of veggies. It doesn't have to be salads, and you salads don't have to be lettuce. Try different things until you find something you like. Also, when you quit filling yourself with the unhealthy foods, you may find you have sufficient appetite that vegetables will taste better to you.

Hi William,

I am not sure how many days, weeks or months you refer to when you say short or medium term. I think that you should be very specific in the time frame (dates and weight).

Also I think that what is reasonable is also affected by what is your current eating like to be able to determine how much you can change it. Your diet will set 70% of your weight loss results.

Give us more details
