a Hillbilly diary

1/3 less sugar fruit loops suck.. we had a box and it went stale before anyone ate it. You could have 2/3 of a bowl and have 1/3 less sugar... but i'm just saying ;)

the good thing is with my weight I don't really have to go the sugar free or reduced sugar route. I just have to watch what I eat. I'm not really on a diet I just changed the way I eat and really watch the portions. The low sugar sometimes ain't a very good substitute.

I'm happy with the results so far. If I stayed on a strict killer diet I'm sure I would be losing faster but 79 pounds so far I'm happy with. Yea I would always like to lose it faster but thats what I didn't in the past and I always gained it back with interest.

Not only is 79 pounds LOST AWESOME as DQ says, but the fact that you're doing it slowly is giving you time to create better eating habits (like EATING breakfast!!) ;)

The goal is not merely to lose the weight, but to lose it in such a way that you never have to RElose those pounds again!!

You're doing great Randy!! :)

79 - wow! I usually try for about a week on a crash diet, lose one lb and get bored stop and gain it all back. Then I did the screw it all and ate what I wanted when I wanted - that obviously didn't work either. So now I'm just relearning everything, "hello food, my name is Amy, lets be friends!"

You're doing so great - keep it up! :)

well today is one of those days your running around doing this and that and and eating from one fast food thing to another. Most of the things today are some of those things you have no calorie idea about so you just try not to look back on and just keep going. I feel I haven't had much food even though the calorie count I'm sure is high. I haven't had dinner yet and It's after 11 pm, I have no Idea but I'll grab something here in a bit. I'll probably roast a chicken leg quarter or just grab some Mandarin oranges with some cottage cheese or or or..... yup It's one of those days. While I was at walmart I did manage to pick up some more diet friendly foods. I picked up a pedometer and my daughter wants me to try a billy blanks cd; but thats probably going back to the store. It's just not real manly jumping around in front of the tv lol.
It's getting cooler here at night so I'm thinking of unpacking all my martial arts equipment as well as the heavy and speed bags and messing with that. It's all up in the air at the moment. It's one of those things where you know you need to but It's just that first day.......

I hate those peach smoothies. I had one and couldn't finish it. They're like 400+ calories for the regular 14oz.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do when it runs cold here... freeze I guess.

yea it was entirely too sweet. wasn't quite expecting it to be that strong. I have been having the good for you smoothies way to long...... but the kids seemed to enjoy it.

I dunno; Billy Blanks looks manly to me...:D

Yah...I can't imagine what I would look like doing that kind of exercise either, but I think I might give the Turbo Jam a try. I'll just have to remember to keep the curtains CLOSED!:D

Hey I have included sugary cereals in my diet routine before and it's not a bad breakfast regardless. I haven't had any this time around, but I had them on my last extended diet. In 2001 I was a size 64 pant. I dropped down to a 60 and never went back up by going to 2800 calories per day. It took awhile and while I didn't stick with it, at least I wasn't starting from where I was back then (probably around 500).

I have the Tae Bo tapes. Hehe... The advanced one is hard as hell! But if I ever work out to them, I make sure noone else is home besides me and my daughter. Jumping around, punching and kicking... haha.

Oh and on cereal... Honey Bunches of Oats... SOOOOO GOOD!

I love Raisin Bran!! And I've tried kick boxing--it's fun! I'm just not ready to go to a class on it, maybe when I'm at around 160. Then I wouldn't get people staring at me like 'Hey fatty, you're not gonna make it!'

I use to have such a major problem with sugar. If I had something sweet I couldn't stop till I was basically sick. Then when I cut it out all together it was a rough few weeks. Now I can take it or leave it. I'll add raw sugar to my coffee and I'll have some kind of cereal but the cravings haven't taken over like before. I try and stay away from any concentrated syrups. About the only kinda of complex syrups I'll have is the light type normally found in canned or jarred fruit. So far everything really seems to be going well. I have a white starch here or there in thinks like potatoes and white rice in gumbo or some such. Most of the time it's wheat all the way.
My whole sugar addiction thing really seems to have gotten under control once I totally cut it out for awhile. Then things like the sonic peach smoothie that was almost a sickly sweet; really shows the the amount of sugar I use to take in. I can just imagine what a coke would taste like. I have managed to stay off cokes for about 5 months now and even though I would like one here and there I just don't because of the whole concentrated sugar thing. Cokes have always been my weakness and it got to the point that if I drank one, I might as well have six a day. One think I can say about a total life eating change is it does bring things into a more sensible perspective.

sweets are VERY addictive, I agree, especially soda, that's trouble right there! Thats good though that you've learned to control it, I know that's got to be tough.
