A hearty hello

Where to start. I'm 16 and a recovering anorexic (I was in the hospital for 72 days and gained about 30-40 lbs in there). But now I'm a little below 105lbs and about 5'5 and looking to start exercising. What I really need is a way to keep myself motivated because that seems to be my biggest problem-- I never feel like exercising. Any advice on what might help?

Give me some information about your likes and dislikes, you goal wants and desires, etc (if you wish to), and I will write something for you in the ChillOut Log. In addition thier may or may not be something in the COL that could benefit you now. In addition, you need to obtain all the knowledge you can that surrounds your fitness goals and use these tools appropriately (and learn over time to change some self-perceptions within these goals).

Go here and read on some basic and fundelmental information:

Some people can exercise because they enjoy it. Others to make themselves look / feel better. Others exercise to improve their skills in sports. Maybe the last choice is your best alternative. Why not try cycling with a group on saturdays? Or take up mountain biking? Or join a running group. Or take up racketball. Some sort of group activity would keep you better motivated than a solo activity.

And welcome.

When did you get out of the hospital ?

Do you belong to a gym ?

And further to g8r80's points - why are you exercising exactly ...what is your primary goal in " looking to start exercising " ?

As for " I never feel like exercising " - if someone was to ask you ' why ' - what would you say ?

I got out last year in early February, so its about a month off from being a full year ago.

I have a few reasons. One, because I figure its better for me to try to shape my body the healthy way rather than starving myself. Two, I need to get out more. What I'd like to do is to be able to take my dog out on a jog or something because I know she would enjoy that (and not drive everyone crazy around the house). Also, I know exercise can make me feel better and thats what I really need sometimes... a pick-me-up.

Welll... part of it might be because I also have depression which affects my motivation to do things. Other than that, I'm just lazy.
