A goal without a plan is just a wish...

Hey everyone :) Lisa - I'm copying you... but I think it's time to start a new journey and therefore I need a new journal!

My old diary can be found here if anyone is interested in seeing how I got to where I am today!

Marie, you made a really good point that the person I was 5 months ago wants different things than the person I am now! So let's take a look back at the person I was 5 months ago:

Well, let's see. I ate whatever I wanted, did not exercise at all, was just plain lazy. But I decided to turn my life around. At 5'4" and 156 pounds, I was not happy with myself. My jeans weren't tight because "they just got out of the dryer," .... my jeans were tight because I KEPT GROWING OUT OF THEM! Finally I decided that I needed to turn my life around and start living a healthy lifestyle.

By counting calories and working out at least 6 times a week, I managed to lose 20 pounds. Ever since the holiday's, my weight loss has stalled and haven't really made any progress. I haven't gone to the gym as much and I stopped being so strict with my diet. The reason for this, I think, is because I have already made it to my "goal" weight. When I weighed 156 pounds, I wanted to be 135. Now that I'm 135, I feel like I already made it. But I can see that I could lose a little more weight, be more fit, and be healthy at 125 pounds.

So I am here to start fresh again with my journey, starting at 135 pounds. I would like to lose 10 pounds to reach 125 and ultimately I would like to accomplish this by my 20th birthday (May 13th). I think this is PLENTY of time, and if I can get my dedication back completely, there is no reason that I can't get there sooner.

I am attaching my progress pictures from the last 5 months for anyone that is new to my diary or would like to see how far I have come. Though I haven't made much progress lately, I know what I need to do to get to where I want to be... I must remind myself that a goal without a plan is just a wish... so HERE WE GO!

~ Sarah

seriously, you were a knock out to begin with! Thanks for the inspiration.

Thank you! And you are welcome. I never thought I could be an inspiration to others, it's so flattering to hear that! You can be one too - it's always within your reach!

I think this is going to be exactly what you need :)

Cheers to you and your new journey :cheers2:

Thank you! I feel like I am starting out fresh and it feels great!

You are amazing!!!!!!

YOU are amazing woman!!! :D

What a day - I got EVERYTHING checked off my list! I crossed off everything one by one in my notebook. It really helps to set out an exact plan of my day because I actually got things DONE! I should do this more often.

So exercise-wise, I did a 15 minute "core complete" abs class. Straight 15 minutes of abs work and let me tell you, those instructors have you moving every second of it! I couldn't believe how hard it was! After core complete, I took an hour of step and that kicked my ass even MORE! Step is so fun! And it is a complete body workout! I'm always drenched in sweat when I leave. I think my hair turned to icicles when I walked outside as the cold wind hit my sweaty head - LOL! Yuck.

Eating was GREAT today! Here is how it looked:

Breakfast - Banana (120 cal), oatmeal (160 cal)
Snack - 16 oz. coffee w/cream & sweetner (50 cal)
Lunch - Ham sandwich (150 cal), almonds (90 cal), light white chocolate raspberry yogurt (80 cal)
Snack (pre-workout) - Apple (80 cal)
Snack (post-workout) - EAS chocolate shake (17 g protein, 110 cal)
Dinner - Steak (200 cal), salad (40 cal), cauliflower (50 cal)
Dessert - 1 cup light sliced peaches (100 cal)
= 1,230 calories

This is pretty low but I'm sure I will eat one more thing before bed. I will keep it within 100 calories if I do. I'm finishing my peaches right now but I feel a little hungry! At least I'm not at like 1,700 calories like yesterday! Yikes :willy_nilly:

Goodnight everyone! <3

AWESOME day yesterday!!! It's amazing how something as small as changing your focus can be so big. Daily goals really do help. I've done that off and on for years. Laundry is always one that gets pushed to the next day... and the next... and the next... ;)

Have a fabulous day Sara :):):)

Hey!

We have somewhat the same goal!! (currently)
I definitely want to follow your progress! :)

Great work! You look SO much better than I do. I look terrible. You look great in those pictures! Keep up the good work.

Thank you all for your replies! I really appreciate it :)

Last night I DID end up having one more snack - but that was just it :D I had a granola bar and brought my calories up to 1,320. I didn't even go to bed until 11:30... and I didn't eat anything for about 3 hours! That's quite the accomplishment, lol :)

This morning I set a new record time for a 2 mile run on the track - 16:08 :hurray: The first mile I ran in 8:13, and that's another record for me :) Then I did about 20 minutes of weight training and finished with some abs work. I'm reallllllly sore from the classes I took at the gym yesterday so I don't plan to take them again tonight.

So far today I've had oatmeal (160 cal) toast with 1 tsp peanut butter (70 cal... the bread is only 35 cal!) and an apple (80 cal). Looks like it's going to be another great day! :D

OH I'm also trying to start a YouTube channel that is going to be me trying to help others make fitness a part of their life. I already made 2 videos, one to show my before and after and then second video to talk about why I started to lose weight, how I got to where I am, and I offered some advice for getting started. I hope people will ask me questions and send suggestions for things they'd like to see. I'm going to post videos of different kinds of workouts that can be done at home and also videos of diet tips. I'm trying to use this channel to reach out to people that are in college and/or my age! Hopefully it's not a waste of time!

Gotta go...

Wow Sarah, what a great idea. You'll be fabulous... definately NOT a waste of time :)

Here is the beginning of my YouTube channel if any of you are interested :) I have been talking sort of quietly because my roommates are around and I just feel dumb talking to the camera and them hearing me :D

I don't think this is "spam," and I've been on here long enough so hopefully it's okay for me to share this with you guys! :)

Let me know what you think of it so far.

Thanks,
~ Sarah
