Hello all! Just thought I'd say hi to everyone out there in this big scary internet world. I'm really hoping to make a few good friends on here that I can help support and support me as well through this rocky journey. A few things about me; My name is Kat and I'm 23 in West Haven, CT - I actually work at Subway Headquarters and before you can say 'that's awesome, dieting must be easy!' trust me it's not >.< I don't actually like Subway and have somehow managed to gain 40lbs since starting 3 1/2 years ago. I love going out and trying new things no matter how physically inept I may be I like to at least give it a try.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you :)

oooh have you met jarred? :D

Ya know I wouldn't actually think that at all... there was a book I read not all that long ago that quoted a study of people's eating habits... and their perceptions and it turns out - in his controlled study (and you can find a study to support any claim probably) but people tended to get out of Subway stores with higher calorie lunches than had they gone to mcdonalds becasue they think they're eating healthy -adn there for it's ok to add on the chips, or the extra large soda, or the cookie... It was interesting..

Welcome to the site.. have fun while you're here..

Thank you all for the welcome wagon, it's really great :) BTW maleficent you are 100% right about the whole perception thing - that's why I've tried to modify my way of thinking to eat as healthy as you can but even when it's healthy it's about quantity.

Welcome! Hope to see you around beyond this thread.

Aren't the sandwiches only healthy if you put practically nothing on them except for lettuce? That was my impression, anyway.

Hehe, I am a firm believer in:

"Anything can fit into my healthy eating program, as long as it is done in moderation"

:)
