a different kind of question!

Hi

Im in the middle of an extended attempt to lose some weight but one thing has been concerning me - clothing! I know if I lose the amount I want to lose that a lot of my clothes arent going to fit, and Im not going to be in the position to go and replace them all (plus, some of them I really love/were rather expensive)...what I wondered is has anyone had any experience of getting clothing altered? I know its pretty standard with expensive designer-wear...but Im talking more high-end high street clothes (karen Millen, Coast etc for any English people on here!)...will it be possible for me to take these into a tailor and get them made smaller? Or is resizing clothes just not realistic?

Appreciate anyones comments!

I'd think it'd depend on the amount of alteration needed. If you've REALLY lost weight it might not be possible. (And good on ya if that's the case :))

Ha ha, no, not a huge amount...i think it will be a case of reducing everything by a single, maybe two dress sizes - going from 144lbs to 126lbs basically!
Im about half way there and everything still fits just about ok right now (well, instead of being tight its loose and comfortable)...but its kind of been making me hesitate going any further....I must have spent about 10k on my wardrobe the last 3-4years (lets just say I have a bit of a shopping habit!) and thats a lot of money to throw in the bin!!

if u are in UK go to indian markets,i bet tailors theer can do it for u,i know many asians who work from home(they sew on order,i bet u gonna get it altered easily),just look for any indian /pkistani shop

another option could be to sell off some of it on consignment? And purchase new... you will not have as large of a wardrobe but it won't cost you anything...

Sell 3 articles or clothing buy 1...

Haha, women and their problems....

I'm currently losing weight so I can fit back into my clothes as I can neither afford nor want to buy bigger size.
