A change for life

Back on Track..I think

So I went to the gym today. Ashamed to say I weighed in at 230lbs on the scale at the gym. About 20lbs more than my lowest this year. but this isn't about what I've done wrong, it's about what I'm doing to get back at it.

I haven't had any alcohol for 4 days which is good for me.

I ran 3.1 miles tonight and did a short bicep routine. Ate well except for a piece of ice cream cake. I've been concentrating on getting in enough water in me and I've done much better as of late.

Also want to make sure I continue to post on here.

Yeah, two days in a row!

So since I started my own business and am working out of my house, it's tough to get adjusted to a schedule. I'm really out of sync as of late. I think it's because I'm not drinking, I'm being productive on my pc and there's nothing forcing me to get up except the desire to drink coffee ;-)...anyway

so I'm happy I've made it to the gym two days in a row. I ate well today. Today is also the 5th day without drinking alcohol (empty calories and productivity killer) so I'm happy.

I weighed 230 on the dot today at the gym (clothed with shoes) so we'll start there and work our way down.

Did 40 minutes of cardio on the treadmill, then 30 pushups, 20 dips, and crunches. Hit the sauna for about 10 minutes and came home. I want to work up to about 1:30 in the gym everyday. it's getting cold and dark and I need to get out of the house and socialize anyway.

Well, that's it for tonight.
 
so another good day of eating and getting to the gym. I drank my alotment of water.

weighed 229.4 on the scale at the gym.

Ran 3.1 miles in 29:30

did 35 pushups

I feel good. Glad I started really focusing again. I look to drop some lbs (not sure how many, it's up to my body) before thanksgiving...

oh yeah..day 6 without alcohol..i know it's helping ;-)
 
So i didn't go to the gym yesterday, didn't do much in the way of working out. I went and had a few pints with a buddy and watched the football game.

Today I spent 1.5 hours hiking a local park, it was beautiful. I forwent the gym and instead did 100 pushups. I have a poker game tonight and may also go out. I know, I know..this isn't going to get me closer to my weight loss goal.

I made some great turkey chilli, tasted great!

Working on making sure I get all the water I need.
 
Since my last post, I've continued to work out and started getting plenty of exercise on the treadmil.

I've begun counting calories again and actually ran 6miles straight on Sunday!
Been to the gym 4 straight days. Been pretty good on cutting back on the liquor, still a tough thing as there is ALWAYS a reason to have a pint....:)

Anyway, talked to my mom tonight. she's lost about 60lbs, but is upset she's back up over 300. She knows why, she's sedentary and is addicted to sugar. I told her to stop buying anything that she'll over indulge in. I told her to make sure she wrote down how much she ate. I calculated her BMR and it's pretty low. 2032 calories. I told her that a couple of cookies and she'll not have any more calories to spare. I think she'll make it.

I'm off for a nice long journey. Thanksgiving day taking off to Chicago for the weekend, then down to Mom's then to Dad's in central illinois, then off to Orlando FL. Yeah! December in Florida, I'm coming back with a tan. (and hopefully under or at 200lbs) Every decision you make makes a difference.
 
A new year and another resolution. Oh well, I signed up for life anyway....

Currently 239.8 on the gym scale.

Breakfast : Grapefruit and Coffee
Lunch: Piece of bread with a tsp of pb, 2 bowls of homemade chilli with crackers
After workout shake and grapefruit
Snack: Sunflower seeds

Water intake about 80oz

Ran 2 mile on the treadmill at 5.5 pace, 22mins. then walked/ran another mile. 3 full miles in 35 minutes.

Biked for 20mins.

Goals for this year.
Get under 200lbs.
complete 2 marathons (first one in April)
Bike across Iowa in July (500 miles)
Try new foods (fruits and veggies) and cut done on red meat
Moderate my alcohol intake
 
4 Weeks tomorrow...

So been four weeks since last post. Happy to say I'm down to 228.8 on the gym scale. 11 lbs in 4 weeks. 3lbs a week! not too shabby. Been running and lifting and eating well. I will continue to bust my ass (both running and stationary bike and elyptical machine) about 1.5 hours in the gym everyday. I've taken a few days off but not much! I am in training and I made a commitment of now alcohol until my marathon on April 19th. I'll check in again soon.
 
Uggg..i'm fat again :D

I start a new job tomorrow and begin my training for the Buffalo Marathon on May 30th. Pretty sad that my dress pants and shirts do not fit anymore. I have really indulged too much and been too sedentary the past few months. But this isn't about what I did to get here, it's about what I have to do to get back in shape.

Goals this year. I must work out a diet plan for my marathon training. I am doing that tonight! Then I need to stick to my diet. Stick to my diet and least not forget to stick to my diet! :)

I need to re-join a gym.

I need to post here at least every other day and visit often to remind myself of what I want to achieve. I don't know how much I weigh right now, but I assume 235 as God made me. So I also need to get on a scale even though it's gonna freak me out!!

So the journey continues back onto the right trail. Here we go again...
