A bit more meat on my bones.

Silly title, I know. sorry.

Im a white European 19 year old female (if thats important), height 164cm and weight 52kg. Im a pear, kinda tiny and I loose
weight very quickly, which is NOT good at all.

Recently I started doing pilates and a lot of stretching to get in shape and have more lean body. My big problem is that whatever I
eat goes straight into my butt and thighs. How can I get some meat (muscles I guess) on my upper body. Im not asking to be ripped, just to have a bit more weight on my chest area. I dont have big breasts (im okay with that I guess lol) and Im really tiny on the upper side of my body. I know there is nothing I can do to have bigger breasts, but I do wanna look womanly. my legs are okay and my bum looks good too, but my chest area and shoulders are tiny. I know that Im a pear and I cant change that, but at least I wanna look like a woman and not a kid. My ribbs are kinda noticable and I dont like it.

I would appreciate any kind of advice you have for me. Working out, diets... I would do anything to have some more fat on my chest area, not to look bustier, but to look like a freaking woman.

Thank you all so much.

There's no way to control where you store your fat. Fat distribution is determined genetically, and it's impossible to lose or gain fat weight in specific areas of your choice. If you're really intent on gaining weight in a certain area, then the only way to do that would be to gain muscle mass.

hey Jram, I totally like you rpost. I don't know how to give you a like thingy for it, but you are right on.

Hey WhiteEuropeanchick! LOL on you describing yourself and your situation. You are totally out there and truthful-ish :)

How about you just stay on the site, start a journal, incorporate weight training into your routine, and build the upper body you can have. Muscles are good on girls.

That is all,
FF

Do you know any workout routines that I could do to build muscles? I would really appreciate any help from anybody here on what to do and what do eat. :)

I'm a lot older than you, but basically have the same body type. If I lose weight, it comes off the top first and any/all curves are below the waist...

I do some strength training - bench presses figuring that a bit of muscle underneath the soft tissues will boost them. My gym has a nice variety of weight machines that I use for arms and upper body - I'm not too good about doing free weights (other than bench press) but I will do the machines. I really like the cable machines as the movements are more functional and work muscle groups rather than isolating muscles. I do cable rows, triceps lunges, chest flys, and shoulder presses.

I also do a lot of core work as I think a flat tummy is attractive, and I have a weak back that needs attention to stay healthy. Planks are excellent. I do some BOSU routines with a 10 lb medicine ball and do fit ball exercises.

Eat whole foods rather than processed and you are far less likely to have belly fat.

Bench press, overhead press, lat pull down and rows. If you can all of these safely, they'll pretty much cover your for upper body.

That's quite a set of information you have, while I can't help you get any fat in your chest area, I can suggest some workouts for your muscles.

I'm trying to bulk up my upper body (don't know if core counts) as well, just because as a 19 year old male, I'm not supposed to have weak arms and freakishly strong core and legs. On that note, maybe you've heard that your situation is gender connected, males are supposed to have more muscle mass in the upper body, while females have more muscle mass in the hip area (NOT ME!!!). The four exercises I find most helpful in upper + core are presses, rowing, back lifts (although the max weight limit at my gym seems to be nothing for me now, so it probably doesn't help anymore...), and crunches with a mix of twists (there is a machine for that).

Just make sure to exercise your legs once in a while, or you may look like this: one day. The thing with your legs since your thighs have the most fat I presume, if you build all your muscles there, your muscles will push your fat outward faster than your fat can recede, so you may look worse (I learned this the hard way). Just wish I had a teenager's metabolism (I'm friggin 19 and still it hasn't, or won't, kick in).

As for you food, try eating stuff with less additives and genetically modified parts, if you're in Europe you should have those labeled (sucks for us Americans right now). I can also recommend Nutrilite's Double X vitamin brand if you find your workouts are getting to an athlete's level. At some point in time, you'll need more than just hydration to replenish your muscles.

Hope this long post has the information you need.
