Hi everyone,

Im a 41 year old wife and mother of two from Illinois. I have been trying to lose weight off and on for several years. Now for the past two years I have became serious at this endevour. I am using Herbalife products to lose weight.

In August 2007, I was hospitalized with a Lupus flare. I was on high doses of steroids and I got pneumonia on top of everything else. I spent two weeks in the hospital and three weeks off of work. I use all my benefit time for that year. I really thought I was going to die in the next six months. My health was really bad.

I happened to gain more weight from the steroids. I was depressed. In September 2007, I knew I had to do something and make changes. I was still pretty sick and weak from the pneumonia. To get motivated, I entered my first weightloss challenge. I managed to lose 15lbs. I started with two protein shakes a day two snacks and a colorful meal. I stay within 1500 calories. I couldnt do much exercise at the time. So I walked and when the weather was bad I did Leslie Sanslone Walk Away the Pounds videos because I knew I could finished them. hehe.

In the past two years, it has come off very slowly. I had steroids twice. I gained a little but I have taken it off. I had no hospitalizations. (thats unusal for me. Before 9/2007 I had one every year) I am in the best health and my energy is incredible. I have managed to take of 58lbs in two years.

Today, I exercise on my Elliptical at home 30 minutes/day 5 days/week first thing in the morning and do strength training 3 days/week. I spend alot of time on Sparkpeople.com for motivation and now Im here too. Im still drinking two Herbalife Protein shakes a day, two snacks and a colorful meal. Im staying around 1500 calories a day. The weight is now coming off faster for some reason than before but Im not going to cry over that loss. About three weeks ago, I entered another 12 week weight loss challenge. I am determined to win. Today, I weighed in at 199.8lbs. Finally, I am in Onederland!!!!!

I enjoy reading the threads in the forum and all the helpful information. This site is great!!! Looking forward to getting to know everyone and finding my way around.

Thanks for the suggestion. I think that is important too. So a person doesnt get burnout. I forgot to add that I do occassionally take the weekends off just to give me a break. I splurg and eat whatever my heart desires. I dont exercise on the weekends either unless its for a leisurely walk with my family. I dedicate it to all family time and keep my week to work and all business (including exercise) LOL.

Hi there

I just joined the forum today....How are you getting on with your weight loss challenge?
I have just started my second one and I am happy with my progress but this time round I intend to do more excercise and would love to win one of the prizes!

PS. Since my last post I have purchased a used bowflex and treadmill on craigs list. We have converted a bedroom into a fitness room. Now I have a place for all my equipment. I workout at 6 am every morning before work M-F. I take weekends off.
