6 pac??

Hi,

I have been training in martial arts for the past 1 year but gave a break of say 2-3 months in the middle.

I just started working out in the gym around 3 weeks back and unfortunately I have only started putting my best effort now. However I have already lost around 5 pounds, but that i feel has more to do with diet control than anything else.

My basic workout is mentioned below
Day one-Spinning + weights and abs
DAy two - Body pump
Day three- Body combat - some martial arts
DAY 4 - SPinning
Day 5- Spinning +Weights and abs
DAY 6- Spinning +weights and abs

I also have maybe 2 intense tycondo classes in a week.

My body details are as following

BMR is coming to around 1400 according to some calculater I found
My weight is around 109 pounds
My problem area is my stomach and my arms , though my arms are good decent now.
I have toned legs but need to work on calf muscles.

My Diet is as following

Bottle of water as soon as I wake up. Eat nothing before the gym!
After Gym fruits! 2 bananas, apples grapes everything.
Half a litre of juice
ANother bottle of water before lunch.
Eat some vegetables with a slice of bread or something
Fruits again in the middle- ANother bottle of water
At night no carbs- chicken fish.. More juice and another bottle of water.

I follow this 5 days a week.

I usually try and eat normally the rest of the 2 days and keep my dinner.
I party maybe twice a week so that could add up.

My Questions are below

1. I want a 6 pac or something close to it! Do i need to do abs everyday for that??
2. Any suggestions you might have on my diet. Losing weight is not my criteria but need to get rid of my love handles which are mainly fat deposits.
3. Is burning around 500 calories sufficient for me?
4.Any suggestions about my workout??Howmany times a day do i need to work for my calves

Welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry, but your way of eating isn't sufficient to support any adult. You must eat before you go to the gym. You can't just have fruit and veggies in place of a meal. :( This is not healthy.

I would try eating a bigger, more complete lunch.

I don't know how tall you are, but it looks to me like you probably don't need to lose much weight, and realize that want to be more toned.

Do you eat eggs? Maybe have some egg whites with your breakfast to give you more protein.

It also looks to me like you may not have sufficient fats in your diet. Do you eat nuts, avocados, or peanut butter?

I don't know enough about weight training yet to give you any advice there, but I think that may be what you need.

Well, I could add an egg and toast in the morning with cereal I guess.. I do eat a little bit of carbs for lunch aswell.

What about my workout??
Any advice?
My hieght is 163 Cm

To me, your workout looks AWESOME!

You are very thin! Your BMI is only 18.7, which is on the verge of being underweight...

I'd imagine with all the working out you do, you have pretty much muscle mass you and probably have a rockin body!

How much ab work do you do? What exactly are you doing?
Try starting a full body workout program with weights. Steve (a guy on this forum) could probably help you out with that, cause I am in no way experienced enough to give that type of advice, as I'm just learning and googled "full body workout" to give me an idea of what to be doing.

How do I ge advice on my diet??ANd workout? Is this the correct place?? Where do i find steve??

Thanks:)

about your work out.. i believe its not a good idea to do weight training everyday.. or at least the same body part everyday.. its a common tendency that when wanting to develop a particular body part (say a 6 pac) people work that part more often, thus over working it.. you should try and avoid it.. at most u can work on your abs every alternate day, thus making it 3 days a week.. but twice wud also be good..
i agree with others about your diet.. i think u may want to add more protein to your diet... egg whites, chicken breasts.. even a protein shake after working out...
having said everything.. your overall routine looks awesome.. you seem very determined, and if u keep at it.. u'll definitely get there :D
