6 meal a day

It's really not so bad, especially since they're smaller meals. Whenever I'm going to be out of the house, I bring a cooler w/ food w/ me so I am always eating right and on schedule.

i also go to college and @ first it was hard to get 6 meals, but classes are only so long, i usually bring a homemade sub & some grilled chicken chunks.. you would think people would look @ you funny, but nope, people ask me if they can try some lol

no problems now. i use to work installing air condition/heating units. we were always on the road and the only break we got was for lunch. had to sneak in homemade weight gainers in a container to drink and homemade protein bars in my pockets to eat to get my meals in.

now i'm behind a desk with morning, lunch and afternoon breaks. big nice difference. :D

I know you say that 6 small meals but i have my breakfast in the mornng which is weetabix and bannana and cup of tea then about 10:30 i have an apple and then i have sanwich and more fruit for lunch and then i have another piece of frit about 4pm and then i have my tea 6pm which is usually quite big like spaghetti boll! and then some cottage cheese at 9pm

would you class this as 6 meals a day thingY?

NO!! That just sounds like 2 1/2 meals + 3 snacks

base each meal off protein first, then healthy carbs and fats. it looks like you're doing mostly carbs for a meal/snack

I'm a female, too!

If you want to make any progress, you have to have protein at every meal, just like Abear said. And it really looks like you need to add a lot of protein to your diet!

To begin with the word protein is derived from the Greek word proteios, which means "first" or "of primary importance." Protein doesn't just strengthen muscles; it also helps to build and repair all tissues. In addition, proteins are also used to make enzymes, which are crucial for everything from digestion to energy production.

From what you posted, it looks like you only have protein w/ lunch and supper. You need it with EVERY meal! All 6 of them!

Here is my sample meal plan so you can get an idea:
Meal 1 - oatmeal cooked w/ 1T gound flax, 3 oz. grilled chicken.
Meal 2 - 3 oz. grilled chicken, 2T natty PB.
Meal 3 (post-lifting meal) - whey powder, 1 steamed yam w/ 1/2 c. organic applesauce.
Meal 4 - oatmeal cooked w/ 1/2 chopped apple, 3 oz. grilled chicken.
Meal 5 - 3 oz. grilled chicken, 2 cups green veggies, both "stir-fried" together w/ 1/2 T canola oil.
Meal 6 - 3 oz. grilled chicken, 1/2 c. raspberries

I can't have dairy or eggs, which is why I have chicken at every meal. But you can substitute it with other lean meats, egg whites, cottage cheese, etc.
But basically, every meal should be roughly the same size w/ a good portion of protein every time. You should be aiming for at least 1 gram of protein per pound body weight. I'm 129 pounds, but I eat about 160 grams.

Im trying to do this 6 meal a day thing but as a high school student its basically impossible. any suggestions on how i can keep up with a healthy diet w/o the 6 small meals a day. The reason i say its basically impossible during school is because we only have 5 minutes between classes and food is not allowed in the classrooms. and to top it off the food served at school isnt the healthiest stuff.

eat before school, bring lunch from home to school (its not the cool thing, but it works lol), eat right after school, fit in a post workout meal, and then dinner
