JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- It took eight firefighters to pull a 500-pound northwest Jacksonville, Fla., woman from her burning home because she couldn't save herself, Jacksonville TV station WJXT reported.
Crews rushed to Josie McCoy's home late Tuesday after she called 911 because her kitchen was on fire and she was stuck in her bed.
When I was a kid our kitchen caught fire while everyone was in bed. There was a short in the vent-hood over the stove. It smouldered until the early hours of the morning, then caught the wood cabinet on fire and spread to the curtains and then into the dining room. I have vivid memories of sitting in the neighbors car across the street - in my nightgown and bare feet - with my mom and my brother, and watching the firetrucks.Umm, how did her kitchen catch on fire if she was stuck in bed? Something just doesn't make sense here.
I can say that is one of the thousand disadvantages of being fat..it is scary to be on fire but it is more scary to be fat like that, super unhealthy. Umm, how did her kitchen catch on fire if she was stuck in bed? Something just doesn't make sense here.
