5' 1" and about 200lbs

Hey everyone. The name is Jay. I'm 19 and a college student from upstate, NY. I'm looking for motivation to become healthier and eventually be able to run again. I used to run cross country in high school and I loved it, but I've become really out of shape since then. My biggest problem is I've put on about 25lbs since I moved back home to my parents house, my mom buys all sorts of goodies & not a lot of healthy stuff. I'm also a major mountain dew addict - it's my only vice.


I want to lose about 40lbs over the winter. 200 is the most I've ever weighed and it really drags on my self esteem (which makes it hard to be motivated). I'm extremely worried about becoming diabetic. I joined this community in hopes of becoming healthy. Even if I don't reach my target goal of 160, as long as I'm healthier and feeling better I'll be happy.
