49 year old getting back to normal weight

Hello, my journey started about 8 months ago with cutting out of un necessary or undeserved foods. I settled on a target of not exceeding 2000 calories a day and hill side hikes 4 times a week. If I wanted a desert with my meal or a snack I would have made sure that my net calorie intake was no more than the 2000 calories. I started off at 255lb and dropped 5-6 lbs every month. I felt good doing it this way as I was trying to adopt a new life style, something that I could live with for the rest of my life.

I have since moved away from the area that had a mountain out back that I could walk on daily and have taken up jogging for 30 minutes a day combined with 20 minutes on a spin bike. I am currently at 205 but I fully expect to be at 185 by my 50th birthday in august.

All my clothes are very loose…feels wonderful to go and buy normal sized clothes again. I have started to be very concerned about what I eat nowadays…never was this way before – I just know loosing the calories from a brownie is dam hard work.

I don’t believe that a person can loose weight without exercising – unless of course you starve yourself
