4 weeks no change

hi all,

im new here. i am 21, 5' 9 and 155lb. For the last 4 weeks I have been eating very healthy and doing 40 minutes of cardio (denise austin power kickboxing :) )
about 4-5 times a week. I have not seen any results at all. My muscles feel tighter, but after 4 weeks I thought I'd see something. I am trying to drink more water. I had gained approx. 20 lbs since January. I was 140 consistenly for about 4 years. I'd like to get back to that, but aside from that I just want to feel comfortable with my body for the first time ever.

With that said, I am not a big eater at all. I eat about 1 meal a day with maybe a snack sometime in there. I am a vegetarian, and get the amount of protein I need through beans and soy etc. Most diets say to have 1400 calories but I was wondering if since maybe my body is used to having one meal a day if switching to 1400 calories a day would just make me gain more weight. I am willing to try to have 5 small meals a day as suggested...but i just want to know if im going to gain weight from that...since i wouldnt be cutting calories Id be adding to them.

Anyway...im patient enough to keep going with my workouts and what not even though im not seeing results. Summer is still awhile away. Any suggestions you have though would be great.

Thanks everyone!
Michelle

The 6-8 weeks that most people say you will notice changes is usually based on the fact that the participants beginning are extremely overweight/out of shape. The body reacts very quickly to a new exercise regimine and you CAN see results that quick, if your more than say 60 lbs overweight and went from being a lump on your couch to a pavement pounder. Like Evo said, your looking at 3 months minimum because your body doesn't have that much to go to be at it's ideal weight.
