I'm 6'0 350 pounds and i need some advice. I'm under the care of a doctor who has me taking adipex. This is the second time i've been taking this drug to help lose weight but it's starting to lose it's effect. I once weighed 428 pounds and lost down to 350 using Adipex. I then stopped use due to it raising my blood pressure and my job wouldn't allow me to work with elevated BP. I gained back up to 370 pounds and have now switched jobs. I've lost 20 pounds in 3 months taking the adipex but its gradually lost it's effect each month. I lose 10, 8 and this month just 2 pounds. My job requires alot of walking which puts stress on my joints and feet. At the end of the day i'm wore out and ready for bed. Pretty much a sedentary lifestyle. I don't eat very frequently but when i do it is large portions. Any advice would be helpful i need to lose another 100 pounds to be where i'd be comfortable with my body.

Thanks
Corey

Best place to start is with your nutrition.
Eating infrequently, and large portions when you do eat is unhealty.
Also you need have look at what you're eating. Start a food journal, note down what you eat, when you eat etc.
If you've done that for a couple of weeks take that to a nutrionist, I'm pretty sure you'll get to hear what you're doing wrong and what you can do to make it better.

Once you've changed your diet, I'm pretty sure you start to feel better and you can start to work on your condition.

Losing 100 lbs is gonna take a lot of hard work, but it'll be worth it!

Oh and welcome to the forum, btw :)

Welcome to the forum.

My best advice is to not rely on medication. It really should not be necessary.

In my opinion you really need to check out the nutrition section and become aware of nutrition.

You need to develop self control to eat in an appropriate manner.

You need to opt for healthy food - and it may well be worth you discovering which food you can eat in reasonably large portions - but not adding up to too many calories. Stop opting for food because it tastes good - but think of it as fuel to move your body.

The walking that you do will be burning a lot of calories - so your posting tells me that you must be eating a heck of a lot of calories to be gaining weight despite that.

The fact that you do not eat often is no positive thing - the important thing is how many calories in total you have - not how many meals a day...

Be honest with yourself - get out kitchen scales and calculate the calories in everything that you eat and drink. Then work on how you can modify it to reduce the calories down to an appropriate level.

Stop hoping that a magic pill will do the work for you and allow you to eat as you please and lose weight.

I am not being mean when I say this (you will think that I am) - I spent decades as a very big person (BMI 52) - and it is much better to live life at a healthy weight... I really want you to sort it out now while you are in your 20s. It is hard work - but the result is well worth the effort.
