Hi, I am new and looking for buddies looking to lose 30lbs or less. I am 51 year old female. My doctor has me on 1000 calories and no more then 16 grams of fat per day. Oh yeah of course drinking plenty of water.

Why does your doctor have you on such a low calorie diet?

Are there underlying medical conditions ot have it so low fat and so low calorie? Are you adding in any exercise?

Welcome to the site... do start yourself a diary and give us a chance too know you better.

Heya Sug,

I'm Mav and I have to lose about the same amount of weight as you do to get into the Navy. :gnorsi:

Welcome to the forums! Here you can get lots of support for your weight loss program, suggestions for a varied and exciting diet that fits into your doctor's plan, exercise options, and pretty much anything else.

If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask! And like Mal said, I'd suggest a weight loss diary in that forum, as it will help you keep track of what you eat (since you're on a reduced-caloric diet) and also help you track your exercise habits.

Have fun, and good luck!

Hi Mal and Mav, thanks for the reply

I will start a journal soon. I keep track of what I eat on fitday.com. I am doing exercise.

I do not have any medical problems other then menopausal. I have to eat 1000 or less to lose weight if not I lose but maybe two pounds a month.

I do not have a problem with the calories or fat grams.

Here is what I will eat today

coffee - decaf
tall skinny vanilla latte from starbucks

mid morning snack
EAS protein drink

lunch
can of tuna (packed in water) on two pieces of 100% whole wheat sugar free bread
2 cups of assorted lettuces with balsamic vinegar

dinner
5 ounces boneless skinless chicken breat cooked on george foreman grill
6 brussel sprouts

80 ounces of water
