30 lbs by Summer?

I'm going to the beach in July and want to know if it's possible to lose 30 lbs by then. I'm 5'7 and 130 lbs. I do track (jumping) so i have practice everyday. I eat healthy, so do you think extra running would help to lose the weight?

You're 5'7" and weigh 130 and you want to lose 30 pounds????

I'm going to say NO on the losing weight - not only is that a lot of weight to lose in that period of time (healthliy), but that is too little to weigh for your height!

Maybe try to tone what you've already got.

If you were 5'7 200lbs and ate un-healthy then I would say yeah.
If you wanna stay healthy you'll find it hard to loose any weight

Was there a typo in your question? You're 5'7 130 pounds and want to lose thirty???? I am 5'6 and weigh 135 and I would never dream of trying to lose 30 pounds, I would look like skeletor!! I hope that you were not serious because you could seriously harm your body especially trying to do it that fast. Not only would you throw off you metabolism and lose a lot of muscle, you would most likely have serious electrolyte disturbances that could harm your heart, you could lose bone density and all kinds of other problems.
For your health, please reconsider.

I bet you didn't like the replies above. It could be that all you think is: whatever, I wanna lose 30 lb anyway. If that's the case, before you go off and go on the next crash diet, look at this:

- 100 lbs isn't the magic number. A girl in my class weighs that little and is of that height and everyone is constantly talking about how bad she looks. Can't imagine that's what you want for yourself. You want ppl to say: "Woah, you look great, how did you pull that off?" right?

- Actually The number on the scale means little. Hell it means nothing. You can be 200 lbs and look fat, but you can also be 200 lbs and look ripped. It's all about bodyfat and muscle. For example, there are 2 girls of same height and weight: 5'7 and 130 lbs. The first has a bf of 23% and the other one has a bf of 15%. The one with the lower bodyfat percentage will have a more defined phisique and will look slimmer and leaner than the girl with the higher percentage, though their height and weight is exactly the same.

You see, looking good isn't about scale weight. The scale is a mere tool to check if you are losing weight. But it won't tell you how much of that is fat. You can have the same height and weight as Jessica Alba (for example) but don't look as trim. You can weigh as little as a supermodel and end up looking like a skeleton with no muscle definition, instead of the sexy and slim look they have.

- Healthy eating (=also eating enough!) and a good workout routine will get you the body you want. Crash dieting and dropping 30 lbs won't. You will end up losing more muscle than fat and feel like crap along with it.

If now, you have finally come to your senses and decided what you really want; try to rephrase your question, read around and we'll help you on your way for a healthy good looking body.

Just one more example for you. One of my friends is 5'4 and wieghs 103 and she looks terrible!!! She lost the weight fast and has no muscle anywhere. She used to be really fit and toned and now she looks like one of those dolls whose head is bigger then her body. She is very disproportionate and bony and her face is sunk in. She looks very unhealthy and many people say she looks like she is on drugs. Just someing to think about.
