2B135again Diary

It's been an absolutely crazy busy week with work; 11 - 12 hour days. I'm also staying with Mom in the evenings while my sister is out of town for two weeks. I don't begrudge the time at all since my mother lives with her so she's the caretaker 24/7. My sister also cares for 2 developmentally disabled women, though, so my nights are full, too. I haven't even checked my email in over a week.

Surprisingly I put my foot down with my mother and refused the chicken-fried chicken w/gravy and mashed potatoes she made the first night. She said she made it just for me, but I stood my ground and said that I was sorry she'd gone to that trouble, but I really couldn't eat that on my diet. Thanks to the mutant sized apple I ate on the way home, I just fixed myself a salad and tore up some turkey lunch meat on top.

I'm still doing really well with my diet and now my mother has decided she wants to join me because she's lost 2 lbs just by eating what I do for dinner over the last week. My exercise time has really shrunk, but I make sure I take a walk at lunch every day so I at least get that in.

I've been keeping my food, water and exercise stats in my DayTimer, but left it at work, so I'll try to take some time in the next day or so to update my challenges. I've lost several more lbs so I'm encouraged to keep going. I really miss everyone here, though.

Sounds like you are doing very well despite being really busy. It's great that your mom has decided to join you, and that you stood your ground regarding the heart attack on a platter meal..lol. Congrats!:beerchug:

OK, I'm back for round two. I've made some changes to try to reduce stress and create some time in my life - for my family, but honestly, this time it's mostly for me. I quit my 11 hour/day job and will be caring for a developmentally disabled woman in my home. I've taken all of the classes required, and now I'm just waiting for them to assign a client. Aside from relieving a huge stressor, this job change will give me some time to help care for my mother and work on my web sites. An added bonus is that, while I have no delusions that this new job won't be challenging, there's a silver lining. Every client's program includes a nutrition and exercise plan, so in a way, I'll be forced to work out and eat right every day to keep my job!

Unfortunately I'm starting this new path weighing more than I did when I left in September. Goal weight is still 135, but I'm starting this time at 210 .

I know what you mean! When I finally came back after my last long absence, I was starting at 222. You'll get there with that new job of yours. Sounds promising that you'll be working on nutrition and exercise.

Hi MJB - I can't believe you remembered me with all of these other folks here coming and going. It looks like you have stayed focused in my absence though; congrats on the 25 lbs down. Is that you in your avatar?

I only got focused in February, just after the new year. So the 25lbs has been in the last 4 months.

I remembered your name from way back, plus the avatar pic is the same. Funny how we remember people by their graphics.

No, the hooters girl isn't me. I just put that avatar up in honor of our Vegas challenge. Our team is the "Hooters Girls" LOL. We are going to get hooters shirts for our team. The avatar pic is my inspiration, but if I lose the weight, I do look very similar to this picture of another woman.

About 6 of us gals on here are going to actually meet at the end of our challenge in Las Vegas in November.

Woo Hoo, Vegas! Now that's a motivating reward! I'm going out for a walk now that it's cooled off. Good luck to your team! Thanks for the shout out. I'll find you again and check on your progress.

Saturdays are my day to take my Mom on errands, etc. She can drive, but this is mostly to get her out of the house a little. We went to a community yard sale at a gated community and I walked so much my legs are sore already. My mom would go to one or two houses and then go wait in the car. I'd walk down a couple of streets and then walk back and wake her up, move the car and do it again. Found a few nice things, as well. My pedometer said I had walked 12,466 steps by noon. I think this might have to add yard saleing (sp?) to my workout routine. Ate surprisingly well for a yard sale day, and drank 95 oz water.

Forgot to mention that I bought a rebounder while I was yard saling yesterday. I think I've seen exercise videos with rebounder exercises so I might invest in one. Since I dropped the gym membership, I'll be working out at home. I have at least a dozen other videos, but I've already found out that I'm not very creative so I would probably just end up jogging or doing knee lifts. I'm hoping this helps me to exercise a little more regularly. I feel bad for the people downstairs (I live in a condo) with me jumping around up her to one of my other exercise DVDs. This should be significantly quieter.

I've decided to go back to my 'What I Did Right Today (WIDRT)' posts.

-75 min. bike ride
-spinach & feta omelette for breakfast
-smoothie snack (blueberry, Naked Green Machine juice, FF vanilla yogurt & ice)
-vitamins
-big salad with grilled chicken for lunch
-dusted & vacuumed, put in a couple of hours of work (still under contract PT at my old job)
-small apple w/tbsp of almond butter for pm snack
-went grocery shopping for the week
-put spaghetti squash in the oven for dinner
-70 oz water so far

Pretty proud of myself today **stretching around to give myself a pat on the back** :hurray:! I think I've earned a little time to sit down and read my book.

Hey there! Glad to see you back! :)

Sounds like the job change will be good for ya. If I remember right, you are quite the cook, right? I'm sure whomever ends up being your client will appreciate your cooking skills. :D

I'll give you another pat on the back for having such a good day *pat, pat*--much better than mine..lol. I've been on and off the wagon for about the last 6 months. :ack2:

Hey you! I hear rebounding is a great way to lose weight. Let me know how that works out for you, I've always wanted to get one.
