285 to 185.... here we go

heres an update i guess....im doing this now to motivate others. Im rather happy with myself, and ive come to realize that its not about numbers, but about how you feel, and i feel good. I still wanna lose my stomach and chest which still has 1-2 inchs of fat...or maybe just skin =(... whatever, im at 207 and about 15% body fat....im on a strict diet of proteins and greens, small portions about 5 times a day, and i eat differently every day to keep the body guessing.

heres some update pics:

Motivation advice

wow your progress is awesome. How did you stay so motivated for so long? That's my problem. I lost 75lbs when I was 17 (from a start of 261) and over the last 5 years the lbs slowly added and I got to 250. I realized this on 11/30/09. That weekend my ex-boyfriend and I broke up. So I used that break up as motivation to get a great body and show him what he lost. Not the best motivation but it worked. Since then I lost about 30lbs. I am now 219 but I feel like I'm losing my motivation.

I go to the gym but I get bored and I think do I really need this because I keep getting so many complements about how good I look. And I'm starting to believe it but I want to get to 160. How can I stay motivated?

Wow...217 vs your chrismas/new year pics is completely different new look. Jeez I could only imagine myself if only I stayed determined and finished out the remaining 30 pds needed to reach my goal of 170 after intially losing 30 pds...the christmas/new year pic of u looks alot less then 207 I thought you were at least 180ish give or take and how tall are you you seem roughly 5'11-6'0?

Don't lose motivation!! Sometimes I do get bored at the gym, And there are times I only run or walk at a high incline for 40 min ( increasing incline over time, end up around 10 incline and 4.2 speed)...so I at least do SOMETHING....and I just always watch my diet, sure sometimes I splurg and eat stupid shit but that's rare and I ussually
can't eat much anymore I get full quick. But mainly stick to your balanced diet and just do at least something at the gym...i've gone a month before my motivation comes back and that's when I start doing my thing again.

And the main thing between 217 and my other pics I think is body fat percentage. I'm down to about 14 I think vs 17 in the 217 pic

How time has flown...

Im resurrecting this thread of mine in hopes of re sparking my motivation and take my body to another level.

For the last 6-8 months i have unfortunately gained about 20-30lb back and mostly in fat id say. My weight went up to 234 max, and ive spent the last 3 weeks on a strict cardio and low carb diet as i did previously, lost 10lb and registered 224.

I left for panama the 8th of this month and i have kept with my cardio and diet. its been almost 2weeks now since my last weigh in and im already feeling more like "myself".

Ive been reading many posts recently here and i want to be a motivater again, and hopefully help motivate myself even more. I discovered this app called Endomondo for the iPhone and for android i believe which tracks your excercise, more specifically my outdoor running.

Previously i did all my cardio on a threadmill, only recently when i got out here did i not have a gym. Ill be here for only a 3 weeks but i cant drop my workouts cause of a trip. So i started running outdoors - its so much different, its my 5th consecutive day running outdoors and endomondo tracks my every step. - ive gone from 2.3 miles the first day to completing 4.8 today.

Already in such a short time i see a nice improvement in distance and endomondo is helping me keep motivated out here at least.

Ive taken 3 breaks while typing this post and im sure the grammer and flow might be a little out of order lol. But i just wanted to make a post, to motivate myself and keep my "journey" documented as this is the only place i have done so.

More solid updates most likely by the end of the month when i weigh in again back in the states.

Wish me luck again - i think ill go even farther this time. I took the diets too serious the first time and i slacked hardcore when i took a break it just spiraled out of my daily healthy habbits again.

Well, its been about 2 months of hard work so far. I have gotten my diet and routines back into perspective and ive been hitting cardio harder than ever.

Last month i tracked 45 miles outdoor according to the gps on my phone and endomondo. Central America is not flat at all haha, so it was a challenge to get my body used to outdoor jogging uphill and downhill, especially for someone that has never ran outdoors.

I love outdoor running now, when i got home i tracked 3 miles in 45 minutes and that was just around my town. I have been getting in a little cardio on the treadmill to change it up for the past week, i plan on going back outdoors combined with lifting mid April.

Anyways, i started going to my nutritionist once again and i weighed in at 210lb, 15.8% body fat. (my scale says 24% body fat and 210 lb, but i don't truly trust the body fat, i don't see how i can be at 24%, 16 sounds more like it. I believe the scale brings into account water weight as well.)

Regardless, numbers mean nothing to me and its about how i ultimately feel. I finally feel "good" again, took 1.5 months of hard work, diet, and mental training to achieve my old mindset again - but i feel great again for the most part.

Ive dropped 24lb this far into my journey again bringing me 7lb away from the lowest ive been. My plan is to hit 195-200lb and start major lifting followed by cardio to keep cutting. I want to weigh in 185 ultimately with 10% body fat and that's gonna take me a while, but hopefully my short term goal of some muscle and 195-200lb will be attainable in 3-5 months or so.

Life is a day by day process - and i try to keep motivated. When i don't feel like hitting the gym, i simply put my gym cloths on and just force myself to go i guess, but once i get into the car im basically back into gym mode. My workouts consist of at least 45 minutes of treadmill, 5 min 3.5 warm up, 10-12minute jog until i hit a mile and from there i try to push myself - im sure i can do 1.5 miles at least if i really pushed on. After that i basically do 5 min solid at 8-10 incline at 4mph, cool down another 2 min at 3.5, and hit a jog another 5 min minimum. I think the trick is to manage your breathing, which in return will control your heart rate. Its a 45 minutes of full mental and body control. The same applies for my outdoor experience.

Sorry for what seems like a long post this far heh.

heres me now, which i am not really happy at right now honestly - i feel like ive lost a lot of muscle and im sure it will reflect when i start lifting soon.

Heres me when i noticed i was letting myself go again (sometime in Oct/Novemeber 2010)

And this was just snapped - weighed in 210lb 15.6% body fat exactly a week ago:

Any comments/suggestions on cardio routines and workouts would be great!

What ya think girls, getting there? Cut the hair? =P
