I'm currently 244 (just weighed myself) I'm looking to lose about 50-60 lbs but I'm unsure how to go about getting started. Last summer I was walking fast/jogging when I could and lost about 20 lbs and then started getting blisters on my heels and had to skip some of the jogging. Then I started making excuses and here I am today wanting to lose weight again.

Mainly I think it's my diet that needs help, I don't know what I should be eating (although I know what I should not be eating). I'm going to start walking and jogging again soon with some better shoes than I had last time, hopefully that will help.

If anyone has any suggestions or comments or questions I would love to read them.

Hi
I just recently learned that it has a lot to do with your thinking and I had no success for many years until recently. It certainly has to do with the way we view food and I hear your voice ringing in my ear about "I know what I shouldn't eat". I have overturned my whole thoughts recently and have just lost over 10 kgs in a month and am not dieting for the first time in a long time and feel so energetic. All the best.

Yay!

Hello! :) Just like you, I'm 19 looking to lose about 60 pounds. I'm 5'4 and I weigh 208 lbs. I haven't seen a nutritionist yet, but I've been taking small steps. For example, I used to eat pizza, chinese food, and greasy foods at home. My family tends to put lots of seasoning that is VERY bad, so I decided I cannot eat like that anymore. Now, I eat like 2 cups of special k around 9 AM, around 12 or 1 I eat 2 cups of fruit (grapes, melon, kiwi, pineapple, etc). When I come home around 5 PM, I might eat a sandwich with whole wheat bread, turkey, lettuce, and a TINY bit of mayo. Definitely better than what I used to eat. I do at least 30 minutes on the elliptical, and I also own a Xbox Kinect, so I'll play Dance Central for 30 minutes, or stream some cardio workouts on netflix. I'm not DRASTICALLY losing weight because I don't work out hard enough, and I despise water so I drink small amounts of gatorade or oj. I would love to look around the forums, see what people have done/ate to lose weight. Good luck :)
