Hi,

I have gained 50 pounds in the last five years and now I am desperate to lose it! I am 22 years old and 5 foot 4. Any tips would be appreciated. I know I have to stop drinking so much juice...I can literally drink a carton of minute maid a day. I should start drinking more water. I love coconut water and it only has 45 calories per cup so I might start drinking that more because it tastes so good and it has alot of electrolytes in it!

Currently I am 36 inches in the waist and I am exactly 170 lbs. When I was only 120 lbs I was wearing 27 inch jeans...ugh to be back at that! I gain alot of weight around my stomach area so that is the area I would love to lose it the most!

i hope to at least update my progress regularly. I have looked at the before and after pics and the ones of KTJEAN are amazing...her before pics are almost identical to the way I look right now at 170 pounds. Ideally I would like to lose it over 6 months which would be reasonable to do...roughly 2 lbs a week should be a good start!!! I am sick of having to buy more clothes and running out of breath after walking up two flights of stairs...and I am only 22 years old!

Would 1200 - 1300 calories per day be too low to lose 2 lbs a week? I do not want to starve myself and set myself up for failure but I don't know how much to eat or how many calories i show be eating...how low to go...any tips?

Anyone in the same boat (same age, weight?)

Thanks

CoolChick

hello,

OMG, we share a lot of common things!

im 21, 5'4 tall, and i weigh 172 ibs...i would like to lose at least 30 ibs by december 2009 cuz my old friend is getting married and i wanna suruprise everyone by a new look!

if that only could happen :blush5:

okay i think 30 is too much, i think i could settle with 15 or 20 :)

hey coolchick, welcome to Weight Loss forum. Here is our forum, there are girls who lose almost 1 -2 pounds on a daily basis. Basically they eat ONLY when they're hungry and they do a LOT of exercise. almost 1-2 hours daily. Visit the diary section for more on this.

hey coolchick, I am in the same boat as you but I am a few years younger and also have problem with fat on my hips. It would be great to have a buddy system.
