2012 will be MY year

Hi everybody,

I am happy to have found this forum. It is always good to have more than one source of where one draws his/her motivation from.

My biggest source of motivation is my family though as I want to be fit and healthy - so that we can have as long as possible a jolly good time!

I've set myself some great fitness goals for the first half of 2012:

a) run my second 9km marathon (the first one I've completed 18th Dec 2011)

b) run up the second highest building in the world. (the highest building in the world - currently Dubai - is not available for run-ups)

Love to hear what targets other members are having!

Wishing you & me a healthy life!

Anja

Phew! You're going to do the CN Tower stair climb? My knees get sore just thinking about it! That's almost 2,600 steps!!

Howdy, Anja. :) I was new here, too, about three months ago or so. I've finally found a strategy that's working for me, and am losing weight steadily. My real, weight-related goal is to be down to a healthy BMI of 20-22...which I will achieve soon. (knock wood) My silly goal...just to see if it's what I want...is to get down to my pre-weight-gain weight. (Most of my adult life I maintained the same weight, without trying. About 6 years ago, I started to pack on weight due to a medical condition. Now that I know about it, and have a way to address it, I'm getting back to my more normal weight.) That silly goal is a BMI of just over 17...keeping in mind that was my natural, adult weight for most of my life. I suspect that I'll look and feel too thin at that weight, at this point. I remember, when I did start gaining weight, I felt like I looked my best at around 110lbs. So, I think that's where I'll probably land.

I don't have any fitness goals, per se, except to regain the flexibility I had up to my early 40s. For whatever reason, even 5 months of concerted effort hasn't resulted in a whole lot of progress in that area. I am improving, but painfully slowly.

Good luck with your goals in 2012!

Welcome to the forums! :)

welcome to the family dear friend. Here you will have loads of information to gain regarding weight loss and healthy life. My goal is to reduce my belly which has recently been quite larger. I hope by the end of May, I can do that.
