So I am a 20 year old Male, who currently weigh's 230 lbs. I'm 5 feet 10 inches tall. My goal is to possible be around 180-190 by June 1st, 2010. That would be amazing for me and make me happy. I started my diet in mid november when I weighed 246 lbs, which was my peak. I am happy about that so far but I am going to start going to the gym soon.
I am signing up to an LA fitness they are building 5 minutes away from my house. The reason I chose that gym is because it's the only gym in the area that has a basketball court. When I was in high school and in shape I used to play basketball everyday of my life. Plain and simple I love the sport and want to get back to it.
I am currently 20 years old and work but don't go to school, so I have a lot of free time. Free time that I am willing to spend in the gym. I am willing to put all the hard work needed to get the body that I really want. Yes eventually I want to be toned and have a six pack and muscles and all that, but obviously weight loss has to come first.
The reason I joined these forums is so someone can give me insight on a weight loss program that will help me. I really have the energy to workout 6-7 times a week, I really wouldn't mind that. I want help to plan out a full body workout, which I want to split over 5-6 days. Remember all the weight training and stuff I do now is meant to lose weight, not to bulk in any way.
So far I would like to start off each workout with 1 hour of cardio, maybe 30 minutes on a treadmill, and 30 minutes on a bike. Alternate that but start my 6 days of working out with 1 hour of cardio. I also want to finish every workout with 30 minutes to an hour of shooting around a basketball. No running or pick-up games, just shooting around till I get in better shape. I want the weight training to be in the middle of this. I don't know what you guys suggest but my main goal is to lose weight, after I reach my goal weight I want to work on other things like sprinting and stuff. We'll get back to that later.
So yeah, if you guys get my drift, please help me create a 5-6 day a week training program to maximize weight loss and work out my whole body. Remember, as of now I want to do 1 hour of cardio 6 days a week no matter what, and shoot around possibly 6-7 days a week. Thanks in advance for the help.
