20/20 special on weight loss

I don't normally watch 20/20, but my mom (who knows I'm trying to lose) told me to watch this segment on weight loss. The link that I include in this post, doesn't really go into detail about what they talked about, it's focuses more on the book that these 2 doctors published.

What they were saying about belly fat, was very interesting. They said it was more important to look at where the fat is settling, rather than just looking at how much you weigh...and for women, a 36" waist or more, and for men, a 40" waist, is very dangerous. The fat that settles there, can put a dangerous amount of pressure on the organs in that area, causing high cholesterol, blood pressure and diabetes. Maybe most of you know this, but I can be very naive at times.

I love to read, so I will most likely pick this book up.

This Dr. Oz has been on Oprah several times, and was talking about this too. I love him, he explains everything so I can understand it. :D

I saw him when he was on Oprah about a month ago. It was great advice and real solutions. My mom bought the book. It's more of the same, just use COMMON SENSE when it comes to food. That is such a simple and yet hard piece of advice. He really makes sense though. There is a certain waisteline measurement you should have (differs for gender). And, you need to get to that and stay there to be healthy. See if you can catch it in re-runs on Oprah sometime!

I have watched Dr Oz a few times too. He is able to put forth his message in very simple layman terms. Absolutely enjoyable and interesting personality.
