2 Month Countdown-HELP!

Hi!

Just new to this site, i was wondering if anyone had any advice/tips/help for me. I have been overseas for 10 months now and would like to lose weight and look great before I get home (2 months from now). I would ultimately like to lose around 20-30 lbs but I realize this is an unreasonable goal before June.I am currently at 156lbs, I am just under 5'3 and I am 24 years old. I would like to lose as much as possible (healthily) before I get home.

How much could I realistically lose in that time frame? Also, any advice as to how to go about this would be fantastic too.

Thanks!!

welcome to the site...

a healthy amount to lose, and expect it to stay off would be about 1 percent of your body weight a week - and that's not always possible... but 1 - 1.5 lbs a week is realistic.

Do you know what you are currently eating, rather howmany calories you're consuming? what about exercise?

As mentioned above, you shouldnt lost more than 1.5 pounds a week, as these pounds are likely to be packed back on quite readily due to the quick loss. Exercising on top of a healthy eating regime is the way to go. I'm currently doing the 'Buff Bride Workout' to prepare myself for my wedding day-I've been working out for years so this low-impact workout has been quite different to what I've accustomed to. It's designed so you can do the entire workout at home, although I do it at the gym. It's easy to follow and doesnt put too much stress on your heart. There are dvds and a book; I purchased the latter as I never seem to find the time for home videos. What is your daily food intake at the present?

Hi, thanks for replying!

I honestly don't know my daily caloric intake, I've just been trying to eat healthy.
Yesterday this is what I ate:

Breakfast:
Green tea
Weet-bix cereal (think its an Aussie kind) (3 pieces) w/ splenda and 1tbsp craisins
Skim milk

Lunch:
1 mini can tuna mixed with a bit of dijon mustard
1/2 cup ww pasta
Mixed veggies, stirfried w spices

Dinner:
Leftover ww pasta (probably equal to 1/2-3/4 cup)
mixed veggies, stirfried w spices
Glass of skim milk

Snack: Yogurt ( i know this is 80 cals) with 1/2 tsp natural peanut butter mixed in

Today it's just breakfast time here..and ive had:

1 small apple
Green tea
Plain instant oatmeal w splenda and 1tbsp craisins

you're trying to lose the same amount as me in the same time frame :) i've just been cutting down on what i eat- not managed to be as healthy as you though :) and trying to excercise as much as possible, been doing about an hour and a half a day. I've not noticed much weight loss but feel more toned.

I think if you carrying on how you're eating and excercise a bit you could definately lose some weight :)

When did you start cutting down and upping the exercise? What type of exercise do you do?
I think what is hurting me is drinking on the weekends (ive been trying to drink low carb beer however) and lack of daily exercise.
I don't know whats wrong with me, just can't seem to get motivated, even though going home should be motivation enough!

I've been doing this for about a week now properly. And i can notice some difference. Luckily i've not really been out the last few weeks, normally drinking would cause me trouble although i tend to drink vodka and diet coke. U get excercise if u dance while out drinking though :)

xlynx...its doible, you can loose the weight. Weigh yourself everyday and make sure there is progress every day.

dragont,
20-30 lbs is do-able?
How often/how much exercise would I have to do to make it? What type of diet?

HI again love!

Your food plan looks really great for the start. If you arent getting the results you desire, perhaps go to one of the calorie counters online and tally up how many calories you are consuming on an average daily basis. You don't need to obsessively begin keping track of calories but once you familiarize yourself with approximate numbers, it will be easier to be certain you are not consuming too many or too little calories. DOn't go below 1250 calories as a general rule as your body goes into starvation mode and you actually end up using your fat storage and blocking weight loss.

How you begin your new exercise routine is entirely dependent upon your current fitness level and past experience with fitness? What have you been doing as far as exercise over the last year or so-both resistance and cardiovascular? Well done, thus far- keep on truckin!

I can't really add to the good advice already mentioned. I hope you fall in love with your new habits and stick to them for a long and healthy life.

hey how is it going?

I found this to be the best way:
jog in the morning...before u eat anything for 1hr...
than eat kefir/yogurt fat free
swim around
jog later...for 2 hours
eat kefir/yogurt fat free

do this for 20 days and nothing else...besides water and maybe PaPaya.
