19 and Phat

So I've been a chubby kid for a long time. I've never had much care for what I eat or how much I ate. Actually, the summer before my senior year at high school (1.5 years ago) I did lose weight, kind of. I grew about 3-4 inches that summer so it stretched out my weight and when I noticed I liked the change I was able to be more careful about my diet and started to exercise.

Since then a lot of happen, and with the stress of things I lost the ability to care about maintaining my weight and before I knew it here I was, 19 years old standing at 5'5 and weighing somewhere between 210-215 pounds, which never seems to go away.

Recently, I've hit some lows and I realized I can't just sit back and do nothing. I've realized i've closed out my friends, quit my part-time job, become aggressive and anti-social at university, and distant from my family. And that's just not the person I want to be. Now, I know that I am going to have to take things slow, but I am determined to do this.

I've tried in the past to lose weight, but it would last for 2-3 days before I gave into the negative thoughts of thinking that was no chance I could change.

I don't want to finish my final year as a "teen" and go into age 20 feeling the way I do. My birthday is in June, and starting today I want to set some goals to help myself simply feel better.

yikes its definatly time for change then. Luckily you are still young :)

There are other younger people on the forum. I would advise you to read the sticky threads though about what to do etc. Feel free to read other peoples diaries and start your own.

Above all, good luck!

Weight loss = calories burned > calories eaten.........stick to this and the stress will turn to joy ! The key is sticking to this. Start w/ walking and ramp up your exercise intensity as your body will allow. Your body will demand more calories as you increase exercise, which means you can eat more !

Thanks for the pointers. ^^

I'm thinking of doing a manual and a spreadsheet log for my daily calorie intake to see if that helps things along

Be the Quiet Riot in your Diet, and......

Little by little Itt'l widdle the Middle :)

YEP! It will.

So CHILL with ALL YOUR SKILL!

=========================================================
I want to share something with you.

I have found "The One" within me, and all you do is have to find "The One" within you.

Just remember you always have it available, you walk within it everyday; you just have to learn how (for you) to pull from its resources.

Let me brighten your day, and reveal one of the major components in your goal quest:

The One
(YOU)
.

(by Chillen)

A spirit born of earth and water............

In the instant that you love someone (YOU)

In the second that the "internal spirit hits"

.....................Reality runs up your spine

And the pieces finally fit...............

And, realize all you ever needed is:

The One.

Whenever I feel troubled, I go to my partner who "understands" The One.

It’s the place where I have left my sweat, blood, over 30 pounds of unwanted tissue, and many tears.

It whispers to The One.

It reveals to The One what The One is really made of and rekindles the spirit of The One. It doesn’t allow The One to question it. It doesn’t allow The One to ever doubt it. It reveals the truth to The One. It shines the light on The One.

Then The One shall see Fire flying from the hands..............

It reveals the depth and character of The One and reveals the moral reserves. It reveals the internal contents of The One, and tells The One:

There is no greater freedom, when you see your future in THE ONE.

The Spirit within The One never dies.

We have a hunger of the mind which asks for knowledge of all around us, and the more we gain, the more is our desire; the more we see, the more we are capable of seeing.

(Unknown)

(You may not understand this, but you will the spirit hammer hits you)
=========================================================

Turn your face to your shadow; you have this shadow due to your unique inner GLOW. Do not make a self-coffin, there will be no external shadow to SHOW.

(Chillen)

==========================================================

We can live one life or several different lives dependent upon the state of our mind.

(Chillen)

Your state of mind shifts and what was once a priority may not necessarily be today.

Sometimes, it only takes a short time to change some views, while other times, it can take much longer to change a person's view in certain matters. You will be constantly learning a lesson or two in life. And, there are lessons so big that totally make you rethink your entire position in life.

The size of the lessons that you learn in life do not matter. This same rule can also be applied to the paths that you have chosen before. Always keep in mind that you should be in charge of your life and your perceptive feelings.

Therefore, you should be able to change what you do not like. It does not matter what others have to say about you. You always have choices, if you are willing to see them.

Do not make an internal coffin. Rather apprehend a close friend (YOU); change your frame of MIND it will never lead you BLIND, and allow positive perception to UNWIND.

(Chillen)

==========================================================

Additional thoughts:

Every decision you make in life is based on your belief system. To open your mind, start to list your fundamental beliefs, and for each one ask yourself why you believe it. Then ask yourself whether you could imagine being you if you didn't exactly believe it any more, but believed something marginally different. Then marginally different from that. Pick a belief a week and work at it. Ask some really good friends what they believe and how they acquired their beliefs. Understand this - your belief system is absolutely unique to you. Your friend's belief system is unique to them. An open mind is comfortable with differences, and also a variety of lenses to view an issue.

==========================================================

Change the way you view the power of feeling down: Instead of it having power over you, use it to empower yourself:

Apprehend this feeling and embrace it; feel its power. Turn this power against itself and use this force to enable outward action of elimination.

(Chillen)

You have at your personal disposal all the tools you need for the elimination process:

Change your frame of mind along with diet and training.

The ALMIGHTY MisterDude ALWAYS HAS THE POWER.........

Its you, and you walk within it everyday.

Best wishes to your continued success,

Chillen
