Congrats on losing the stone!! I was reading your diary from earlier and yes, it's a great idea to weigh yourself in the morning because your weight actually fluctuates a LOT during the day so doing it in the morning is a great control factor. I actually joined around the same day as you and I'm at day 9 of counting calories now. I've lost 6lb so far and it's pretty amazing so I share the feeling with you :)
Thank you for reading my diary and thank you for the advice :) It always helps to keep me on track when I know that someone is reading my diary. Weldone on the weight loss!! Youre incredible- keep going!

Day 13... yesterday I was gery proud of myself because we went to the cinema and instead of having a huge bag of sugary pocorn and a high-calorie massive drink, i took a tiny bag of chocolate buttons and 2 lollypops and a bottle of water. I was still satisfied and was able to make much healthier choices. Then we went to Starbucks and instead of a highcalorie cake and a sugary hot chocolate, i had a cup of tea with one satchet of sweetner. It really is those small life changes that will get me to be where i want to be in life - much healthier and happier!!
Today's food diary:
Breakfast:
I think i'm going to have an omlette for breakfast today to use up the spare veg in the fridge :)
Lunch:
Jacobs ciabatta crackers and low fat sweet chilli cheese spread

Dinner:
3 HEK sausages with roast potatoes, broccoli, lots of other veg and one yorkshire pudding and gravy as my treat :)

Well here goes... my weight for the week is...
Another 1lb off giving me a total of 7lb for the week and 1 stone and 3lbs off overall for 13days ive been dieting :)

Hey Feel Good I am new here but I am very happy for you choosing lighter alternatives to sugary popcorn, and congrats for losing 1 stone and 3 lbs in just 13 days.

Thank you all for your wonderful and supportive comments I really appreciate them!
So last night was a tiny bit off plan haha me and my partner had fancied chinese all night and I guess we wanted to test ourselves and make sure we could still stay on plan after a one-off cheat meal. We ordered takeaway but a much healthier version than we would normall eat. We ordered a plain boiled rice to share, a 1/4 crispy duck to share and some salt and pepper chicken wings (we had 3 each) i didnt feel like i over ate and now I'm ready to get back on track today :) it's strange because I dont feel too guilty about eating off plan which I hope isnt a bad sign!

Anyway today's food diary:
Breakfast: we were meant to have the HEK sausages for dinner last night so I will cook those this morning with some beans.

Lunch: avocado, spinach, strawberry and bleberry smoothie, jacobs chiabatta crackers with low fat chill cheese spread and a ripped up cheese string.

Dinner: minted lamb grills with a pitta and salad :) may have a small amount of rieta dip aswell.

Todays weigh in after the damage of yesterday's chinese = no change. I'm happy about this to be honest as it shows me that if i eat junk i'm not guna lose weight but it's not done any damage to set me back :)

I don't classify Chinese food as junk. You didn't overeat & that is good. Try not to feel that it's all or nothing. You are moving forward & learning what works for you & what doesn't. Eating what you like, in moderation, sounds sensible to me :)

What I like about the Chinese restaurants around here is that they tend to have good vegetable dishes. Something typical Austrian restaurants often lack.

Thank you everyone who has commented :) I enjoy reading your replies.
So yesterday as work i was out on training all day which meant that a lovely (and very unhealthy) lunch was provided. Lots of sandwiches and lots of indian snacks etc. I resisted and had my crackers with cheese and my smoothie. Woo! I did feel a little proud :,) i'm on training today and tomorrow as well so lets how I am able to resist again! Oh, yesterday I felt really hungry at around 7pm so i had some wotsit crisps.

Todays food:
Breakfast: 2 chocolate wheatabix with skimmed milk and a banana

Lunch:
Cupasoup and a warburtons thin with losts of fruit (sounds abit rubbish but i'm not going shopping until tonight)

Dinner:
A low fat weightwatchers shepards pie with lots of broccoli and peas

Today's weigh-in: another 3 quarters of a pound lost :)

You are not eating enough calories, Feel Good! Well done on your weight loss but please do this in a healthy way where possible! Those WW meals are like 400 calories aren't they? 100 for the thin, less than 50 for the cup a soup...you couldn't have had more than 1000 cals yesterday... (nagging over!)

So it's 2017... a whole 10 years after deciding to go on my first ever diet. I've always been overweight so this year brings about a whole new mindset and a healthier way of life!

I've decided to blog my progress in an attempt to hold me accountable for what I eat and the choices I make.

I've been eating much healthier for four days now and in that time I have lost 6lbs. I've mainly been eating salads and vegetables as well as lean meat and fruit. I really really hope I can keep these changes up - I just want to be happier and healthier. Here's to 2017... and here's to feeling good!

I hope you will have a great 2017! :)

Great to see that you've already made some good progress!

Also nice to see that you allow yourself to be happy, and that you are working on getting a new mindset. Based on my own experience (and on thinking about it logically) I have concluded that a healthy body really comes from a healthy mind. Learning to accept/love/forgive/take care of/reward yourself and un-learning constant punishing/shaming/guilting/hating/neglecting yourself. It's much more mental than everyone thinks.

Of course there is a physical side to weight loss to. We live in a physical universe. Evolutionarily, humans are not wired to resist eating, because food could become scarce. Same about exercising; we are naturally lazy, because it used to be smart to save energy. So resisting food and exercising do not come natural. But we can outsmart our biology. This is where habits are important. It means that we don't have to resist temptation of eating and being lazy consciously.

In order to create strong habits that last, we need to create them in such a way that they fit with us. They need to be realistic, otherwise our biology will rebel. That's why we can't make sudden extreme lifestyle changes. We need to 'trick' our body into exercising and eating healthy, and the best way (that I have found) is by making our habits fulfilling and fun. Allowing a bit of play. Letting our imagination go wild. Another way is by creating systems, so we can do our habits automatically, without thinking. This creates a feeling of "flow", which also creates pleasure.

Anyways I would love you to see you make more progress towards your goals in this year! Keep me posted! ;)

Hey Feel Good,I honk you should eat more calories, try searching the internet for some good weight loss snacks, that lunch sounds very low but it depends on how much fruit you ate and what fruit you ate.but good luck on your weight loss journey.

Hi everyone thank you for commenting on my diary. I think once i start going to the gym on Thursday (in 3 days) I will feel better about eating more. I have already planned pre and post-workout snacks and at the moment I feel pretty in control of my weoghtloss. I am feeling better about my self, healthier and I am listening to my body more - if i feel hungry I do eat extra snacks etc and when I fancy something naughty I eat in moderation and I have made healthy changes to my eating habits. I don't feel guilty around food anymore and I am starting not to feel that adrenaline rush/anxiety when I am around food. The voice in my head is still there but now when i eat its saying "it is ok to eat this. This is healthy"

Best of luck for gym.if this is your first time you will love the equipment they offer.eating healthy food is the way to go.

Not feeling anxious about food is a pretty great improvement - and a necessity to make healthy living a life-long habit!
