So after browsing this site for around a week, I picked up some useful tips, but I am finding it hard to get started. I calculated that I need to eat less than 1900 (or was it 2900? lol) calories per day. I eat a lot of bad food. I wouldn't consider myself fat but I have a lot of it. I am 6 ft 1' and 170-172 lbs and 15 Y/O. Firstly, I am aiming for a slimmer body overall with more arm strength and possibly leg strength. Once I am thinner, I would like to start building my body. I am finding it really hard to eat right. Today, I had a bowl of Crispex cerial with half of a banana cut up and a glass of orange juice. At lunch, I had french onion soup (not healthy at all) and for dinner my mother made some hamburger/pastry meal which I don't think was very healthy but it included cut up cucumbers in vinegar. I am guilty of snacking in between also. I have been trying to eat healthy for the past 2 weeks but it only lasts 2-3 days before going back to my regular routine of fatty foods. I am only aiming for a 5-10 pound weight loss at the moment and then bring it down from there. Also, I read that it would be better to consume 5-6 meals per day but since I attend school during the day I'm not sure how/what I should eat during school between breakfast & lunch. Thanks a lot for your help!
