Hi there everyone,

I am new to the boards and hope that this site gives me some support. I have always struggled with my weight. I am a 26 year old who has 3 children with my husband. 2 are his from a previous marriage and we have one together that just turned 1. The pressure is definately on right now. I have breast reduction surgery scheduled in 6 weeks and I need to lose about 12 pounds. I definately am serious and am going to try my best to keep eating right and exercising. I have done this a million times and I always reach my goal and then return to eating like a pig. I want a lifestyle change but struggle with making it a habbit to stay healthy. I once watched a show where the woman said food is my lover and I feel the same way. I always feel hungry. I have an elliptical trainer that my husband purchased for me after I had the baby and I used it every day for a few months and then on and off again after that. I hoped that I would be back to pre pregnancy weight before Zack turned one but I am still about 12 pounds shy of that. I hope to drop the weight and keep it off. I look forward to utilizing your suppport and reading all of the wonderful threads to guide me through it. Talk to you soon. Squirly:)

i was 130 lbs. when i got pregnant with my child.... i walked out of the hospital weighing 182 lbs. - and that was eating grilled chicken, broccolli, etc. man - i felt like a failure - all i have to say is congrats to you for only being 12 pounds away from your pre-pregnancy weight - it took me 2 years to lose it all and then some. i got all the way down to a size 2 - but that i like to eat thing kicked in - we have to live - and love ourselves. If you really only have 12 pounds to lose - the best way to do so is through diet and exercise - don't resort to any otc meds - because that will just defeat your purpose in the long run. look forward to reading about your journey.

Hey thanks for the support. To some it doesn't seem like a lot of weight but to the person who can't fit in their clothes anymore it is really hard. I just feel blah all the time. It definately has a lot to do with the foods I put in my body. I just feel so much better when I am eating healthy. I just have a hard time sticking to the work outs. I will try my best though. Talk to you later. Squirly
