103 lbs lost, 45 lbs to go! (190 to 145, here I come!)

The moment I went into puberty, I started to get really fat and icky looking. Reeeeally bad. Even in high school, I was generally between 210-215, except a rare couple months I was down to 205. Being 190 is the lowest I can really remember being. After I got into college, some things happened, and I of course knew nothing about nutrition. I thought I could eat just like my guy friends. Big mistake. Soon, I was a 5'8 293 lbs girl.

Now I am down to 190, and I think I am between a size 12-14. I don't know. D: Some pants of mine are 14 and fit perfectly, some are size 12 and fit perfectly. How aggravating! But anyways.... 190 used to be my goal weight. I used to think "I can stop and be happy at 190" But really, I want more. (Or less, in this case.) After researching my body type, healthy weights etc.. (I am a larger build girl, so I should be very curvy at my healthiest weight. Can't wait, as I think curves are lovely.)

Initially, I had set my "eventual weight goal" as 160, but I want to go all the way now, I want to get down t0 145.

My boyfriend of 2 years is Finnish, hence why I go to stay there on and off...and the next time he sees me, I want him to be able to pick me up and carry me around, and be be so proud of me that he'll never want to let go.

So, here starts my plan. Now, along with eating managed calories (about 1000-1200.) I am doing 30 minutes of hard walking with a bit of jogging to get my heart rate up every morning, and 25 minutes of aerobics later. (I take part in the National Body Challenge hosted by Discovery Health, I highly suggest this for people because it gives you recipes if you need them, and exercise videos, and lets you log things. It's a really great 8 week challenge, and it's freeeee!)

Also, here is the basics of what I eat and drink, if anyone is curious. I by no means deprive myself of things I like. Just eat in moderation.

- Salmon, Tuna, Pollock...seafood is fantastic, and sooo good for you.
- Chicken breast with the fat cut off. (I cook in either olive oil or canola oil. STAY AWAY FROM THIGHS, as they are so fatty and gross. Eeew.)
- Ground Lean Turkey (Get those beef patties out of there! These are delicious, too.)
- Vegggggiiiies. I love to either make salads with a bit of shredded cheese, or cook some frozen stir fry mixes (Just the veggies, no sauces. Sometimes I throw in a bit of chili flakes or other spices.)
- Rice! I love cooking up some white rice with some pepper , bit of salt, and sesame seeds on it.

These are just some basics. I also eat my biggest meal towards the beginning or early-middle of the day, and I try to not eat towards the evening. This gives your body more energy, and makes it so your body doesn't hoard any later calories while you sleep. Lately, I've taken to eating bento styled meals. Basically it's a bunch of small portions of various things in a type of dish called a bento box, and you can be really creative with them. Some people get really artistic, too, but I find them excellent for managing portions.

*IMPORTANT NOTE*
I know there are a lot of "Fat Free Diets" out there. I highly discourage anyone from completely eliminating fat from their diet, especially if they plan to lose a lot of weight in a short amount of time. Just try to have some olive oil or canola oil in place of your meat fats. Why I say this is that to deprive your body of fat (You do need some in your intake, the healthy kind) and lose a lot of weight will severely increase the risk of gallbladder infections or gallstones. THESE ARE EXTREMELY PAINFUL, and you do NOT want them. I had this happen to me, because for a long time, I did not eat any fat, cook with any oil...and did lose a lot of weight in a short time. One o these attacks landed me in the hospital because it was so painful. So, heed my warning!

Anyways.

I'll update pictures about once a month I think, on my way to 145. :3 Wish me luck!

Good luck, Mononoke! Love the pictures, and how far you've come in this weight loss journey. You will definitely get to your goal weight! I'm also eating the same calorie intake as you are (1000-1200) with mainly white rice, fish & eggs.

I'm not sure if I have gallstones or not but back when I used to eat quite a lot in a day (usually a lot of fatty crap), I'd have some pain that lasted for a few minutes randomly but that was months ago. It stopped completely when I went on a diet. Did you get your gallbladder removed?

Thanks for sharing :)

Maybe. A lot of fat can also cause them. But if you had an attack, you'd know it. x_x It feels like someone is tap dancing on you with stilettos, and you get lower back pain, nausea (sometimes throwing up) and no position is comfortable for you to be in. Usually lasts a few hours.

Also no, I didn't get it removed, just treated at the hospital with IV and medications, lol.
