Hi All

this is my first post here

I am 29 years old. 6 feet 2 inches tall and 107 kgs.
I am desperately trying to lose 10 kgs for a wedding that is in 6 weeks time.
till now it has been too slow. now in the final 6 weeks, I really want to acheive my targets.

ere is my current diet plan (which I intend to follow from now onwards)

beakfast: 1 slice of break with low fat cheese
lunch: one big bowl of fruiti salad (1 banana, 1 apple, 1 pear, some grapes and pineapple)
dinner: some green salad (with some chicken etc).

As for the excercise, I cant do it daily as I work in a bank and work very late (sometime past 11 pm). However I plan to alteast 3-4 times a week on average. I really cant do any weight lifting (its too boring for me) and will just run on tredmill for 5 kms (tredmill is what I can only do in gym)

the above diet plan (i think ) is made up of 1300 calories a day. do you think I can lose 10 kgs in 6 weeks this way? or is it too agressive (given my diet and excericse routine)?

please help me with more tips and motivation!

is the fruit salad a good way to have a healthy low cal. lunch ? (i like those fruits and i thought that is something I can do easily. I find it difficult to eat anything which I dont like. For the fruit salad, I worry it might be too high in sugar/calories)

Many thanks for your help!

ps: i am overwight cuz I LOVE food. pizzas, ice cream, fast food etc. I plan to stop it all atleast for these 6 weeks. (i am not concerned about whether or not i will regain this in future)

You need to be eating more meals - when you only eat 3 meals a day your blood sugar goes up and down to much and if more than 5-6 hours elapses between eating your body will think it's starving and will hold on to your fat for dear life!

You should eat 4-6 meals a day, here's an example:

Meal 1: 6oz of 1% cottage cheese, 2 sliced multigrain bread, coffee/tea
Meal 2: 1 cup dried mango
Meal 3: 4oz grilled turkey breast, large salad with a varity of raw veggies in it (carrots, cauilflower, tomatoe etc..) and 1 tbs olive oil for dressing.
Meal 4: Blueberry smoothing (containing 1c blueberries, 1 scoop protein powder, 1 tbl flaz seed oil, crushed ice)
Meal 5: 6oz salmon, 12oz string beans.

Also, if you are JUST dieting - you really need to add some intense excercise and just not cardio. You need to do resistance as well - the more muscle you have the leaner you'll look, the firmer you'll look and you burn more calories doing nothing when you have more muscle.

10kg in 6 weeks i probably a bit much, but to get some decent results you really need to up your exercise to high intenisty as you can. If you find lifting weights boring maybe you should try some circuits?

Hi,

When I recently wanted to loose 2 stone in 9 weeks before my holidays I tried a very low calorie diet. It was very successful and I didn't feel hungry because my body was in ketosis. Although in the first couple of days i felt tired and didn't have much energy this all changed on day 4, I felt healthier and my energy levels were fantastic.

I reached my goal two weeks before my holiday and then started introducing conventional food back into my diet. Since I returned from my hols I have only put 2 lbs back on and I now have a healthy balanced diet and I feel amazing.
If you want any further info please send me a message

10kg in 6 weeks is completely unreasonable an very unhealthy - as it the diet you're eating.

An average HEALTHY rate of loss is about 1% of your weight per week - so for you about 1kg per week would be reasonable and safe.

All you're going to do by starving yourself with that food plan is screw up your metabolism, and make yourself really hungry. Then the first time you do eat real food again (or drink anything alcoholic) you'll gain back a huge chunk of what you've lost via water weight.

As for the rest of it - until you lose the "i can't" mindset, then there's nothing else to say. You "really can't" lift weights because it's "too boring" ... then oh well. I really have no patience for people who won't do what they should be doing to be healthy because it's "boring" or they won't make time for it.

If you want to be healthy, you'll eat healthy foods, do proper amounts of exercise, and lose weight at a proper rate. Yes, it's hard. Yes sometimes it's boring. Yes sometimes I don't want to ...

But you know what, sometimes I don't want to get up in the morning and go to work either. Sometimes I don't want to do the laundry or dishes (talk about boring). Sometimes I don't want to vacuum the living room. But I'm an adult and I know that in order to be able to live my life in a reasonable way (to pay my bills to wear clean clothes, to live in a clean house) I have to do some things I might not necessarily want to.

Same goes for being healthy. So it's up to you to decide what you really want.

Yes very well said! I could not have put it better myself. I hate weights but in order to get to my goal I have to suck it up and use them. That's just life.

Just stop stuffing your face and exercise. The 'secret' to any weight loss.

1. Not enough food, especially protein wise.

2. Pretty sucre banks don't open until 9ish. Get off your arse and do it in the morning. Stop being lazy and making up excuses. Bet you have time to sit down for some TV after work.

3. Don't like to lift weights because it is boring? Then why are you wanting to lose weight if you are not prepared to put in the hard work? Again, another excuse and laziness.

4. You think it is 1300 or do you actually KNOW ? Learn to calculate and know 100%.

5. 10kgs in 6 weeks is not very realistic. Can it be done? Sew your mouth shut and exercise 2-3 hours everyday and then yes, maybe.

6. You left the weight loss too late. It is a slow process.

7. Fruits have carbs. And unfortunately the fruits you like are the higher carb fruits.

8. You just want to lose weight for the wedding and you don't care whether you regain it or not afterwards? And you want to lose weight fast. Starving yourself. It is a recipe for FAILURE.
