Breathing excercise

Hi Megan,

A friend showed me this, it sounds like a weird way to workout your stomach, but give it a try and see what you think. It's a breathing exercise.

Stand normally. Breathe in slowly and fully, but keep your stomach flat (don't let it expand as it usually does). By the end of your inhalation, you should feel your abs and chest stretching. As you exhale, flex your abs as hard as you can.

When you go back to inhaling, make sure you don't let your stomach expand.

I know this isn't traditional, but do at least 10 of these full breaths when you wake up, and during the day whenever you can. I used to do them on the bus, at work, basically anywhere.

Let us know if you notice a difference.

You CANNOT spot reduce fat! Not the answer you wanted megan I know but, the sad truth I'm afraid. Posture may help give the appearance of less fat in the stomach area though though.

Most important thing is to enjoy the party though...

Megan:

What I do is keep my exercise going. From the food standpoint you should step up the complex carbs (veggies) and back off the starchy carbs...especially at night.

Do vacuums. Exhale all your air. Relaxe your abs and then pull up with your diaphragm. It should look even more pulled in then when you use your ab muscles to do it. This might reduce waist size after you first try it. Many bodybuilders practice this technique.

Hi Megan

The best way to reduce belly fat is to do cardio. You can do breathing exercises, sit ups all day but you will never be able to see your abs if your body fat % is to high. Best thing to do is try and eat good and work out that heart! What I like to do is climb or go walk up a hill. Going to the gym is great but if you have the chance to run on street or mountains do that instead it is SOOOOOOOOOO much better OMG. I used to be able to run 4 miles on a treadmill without breaks at 7 miles an hour. Untill i tried to run a mile on the street. THAT was hard. I couldnt even finish one. Treadmills are a hox that are better than nothing but are not the best. I dont know where im going with this I just hope my experience helps some of you.
