1 day fast

Is taking a one day fast once a week going to throw my body into starvation mode? I figured I could cut a hell of a lot of calories out of my weekly consumption by doing this. I know its not the most healthy way but besides that will I burn more fat that day because my body has to go into its fat reserves because I am not intaking anything that day?

you know this isn't the most healthy way of doing things so why on earth would you do it?

Will you hurt yourself long term? no probably not -starvationmode doesn't quite work like that..however -it's really a bad idea for your long term success.

CONSISTENCY is what will get you to your goals - Not stupid pet tricks... q

I agree with Mal, doing something like this is probably a bad idea. It's all well and good if you are having a good day and have the resolve, but what if you just get so hungry you cave and end up eating something? That could seriously damage your morale and lead to "Oh what the hell..." type behaviour.

Again, I think the best method is consistancy. Pick a realistic amount of calories to eat each day and stick to it.

well, besides all that it sounds as if it will boost my overall weekly calorie burn, I might do this one day next week, but I see what you are saying about the temptation to just say fuck it.

What about skipping meals? that sounds a little more healthy than not eating all day, I will just have breakfast and lunch and no dinner. I am gonna have to expiriment to see what works and what doesn't.

you can do it - sure it will give you a few extra calories, unfortuantly you will more than likely binge afterwards though :)

well i think i have the willpower to do it once a week. if I can not take in 3500 calories in a month then thats another pound!

or you could eat 116 less calories a day and thats the same amount, and a lot smarter and easier
