Lets say its 11:00pm... Im feeling a little tired and have to wake up at 6:30 the next morning but i have not done any kind of workout that day. Should i try to get in a late night workout or just go to bed? Thanks
If you are attached to having a good night sleep, it might be better to get some sleep. However, if you have the issue of being unable to get to sleep because you havn't done much all day therefore have too much energy then some light exercise would help. Generally, you should always try to get your exercises in at least 3 hours before sleep.
Thanks, what are the consequences of not doing it 3 hours before bed? It will be very hard for me to consistently get in my workout that soon and its impractical for me to do morning workouts on weekdays
It can be a very individual thing. The main reason for exercising that long before you try to sleep is that many people have trouble sleeping soon after exercise. So it shouldn't be a problem to exercise that late, provided that it doesn't cause you any problems falling asleep.

I sometimes get in a late night workout. If it's late night then I don't workout as much as if I had the time. Rest is very important if you workout because you need to give your muscles time to repair. If you have off days then push it hard, at least you know you'll have more time to rest.
Yes, I should have clarified a bit more. Rest is very important, so you don't want to always workout this late. Try to work out earlier as much as possible, but once in a while, a late one should be OK, provided that you catch up on sleep on other days.
