How can I loose the weight in my "problem areas!" and not look gaunt in the face?

How can I loose the weight in my "problem areas!" and not look gaunt in the face?

Hi Everyone

I am new!

I really want to get into shape. I am not overweight, I am a size 12, but when I try to get into shape, I lose weight from my face and my boobs, rather than where I want to loose it, my thighs, bum and tummy.

How can I loose the weight in my "problem areas!" and not look gaunt in the face?

Is there any way to get my boobs back!

I used to do body combat, which I love. But find it hard to fit in with my baby.

Any suggestions gratefully received

Thanks

There is no way to spot reduce or target reduce. Your body will burn fat from where it wants to, typically in reverse order. Your face and boobs were probably last to put on the fat, so that is where it will burn off from first. With women, the last place they lose weight is typically rear end and legs. For guys, the last place is usually the belly.

Sometimes it seems to me like i loose some fat from my belly but face is getting plumpy. Sometimes, on the cotrary, I get some fat on the belly, but the face don't change... Is it possible or it is just seem to me?... For example, when i used to ride bicycle for a long distance in very hot wether i was slim but with plumpy cheeks. Now I just jog everyday and i would not say that i am enough phisical active but my face is normal and the belly is getting some fat... I start to think that local fat burning can be possible if the problem areas would be sweat (as it is when you ride bicycle in a hot weather).

your observations are just incorrect. sweating does not equal burning calories or fat. it means your body is cooling itself. Period.
Local fat burning is NOT POSSIBLE without surgery.

Hey Lou,

I hear your frustrations on that!

But as a previously bottom heavy girl myself and a trainer who deals daily with women who have this problem, I'm going to say contrary to popular belief it IS possible to change your shape AND get your body burning fat from your bum & thighs - BUT not with exercises, the guys above are right when they say you cant spot reduce areas with exercise, but you CAN tweak the way your body burns fat through your nutrition.

follow these 5 steps:
1. replace all hour long or more workouts with 30 min short interval & resistance training sessions to keep your cortisol (stress) levels down. With your baby it should be easier to fit in a 30 min bodyweight workout rather than heading off to the gym for a few hours.

2. Eat a super clean diet - eliminate c.r.a.p ) caffeine, refined carbs, alcohol and processed foods)
so that means lots of lean meats, fresh fruits & vegetables.

3. Drink PLENTY of clean water - 1 litre per 50lbs of bodyweight

4. Increase the amount of fibrous veggies you are eating - such as cauliflower and brocolli, also green leaft veg such as watercress, rocket, spinach - these contain high amounts of indole-3-carbinol. This helps 'bind' to the the excess estrogen and assists in fat loss.

5. get enough sleep! Cortisol (stress hormone) can disrupt the entire hormonal cascasde, so make sure you're in bed by 1030pm 5 nights a week.

Let us know how you get on!
