Back muscles

Hello all,
I am new to the forum and I was wondering if there are any suggestions that can help me to create stronger upper back muscles? I am planning to have strapless dress for my wedding and I don't like how my upper back looks - you can see skin/fat folds above the upper edge of the dress.
Please help

you can't really spot reduce - i know that's not what you want to hear.

when is the wedding?
how much fat?

more info and pics = maybe we can help

Did you ask the dress peeps? Maybe they can fix the dress up. That's faster than fixing a body up.

:)

welcome to the forum

I probably have more fat than I should and it is not that ugly, I just want to look better. The wedding is 5 month away, so I probably have time to tone my body. I am looking for some exercise routine that can help

back

if you really want to do this i would start by eating a little better go on a mini diet, and start doing some cardio if you don't already. there are alot of exercises you can do for upper back. low weight high reps will help you burn more calories. you can do anything from lateral pull-downs, assisted pull-ups, any kind of standing rows or seated rows all on machines. or if you wanted to move to dumbells you could do dent lateral rasies front raises side raises. remeber light weight higher reps

5 months! OH! that is different.

Go to the journal section and check out the workout journal "Dutchy Kicking AAS"

you'll be all set.

I checked out Dutchy Kicking Ass Journal. I have to say that I am not as ambitious as she is and I am not going to fitness club (no money or time). All I have is eliptic, balance ball, set of 5lb dumbells, hulahoop and stationary bike.

The exsercises for her upper body were as follows:
Low row, Lat pull down, Incl. chest press, and Chest press.

Is there anything I can do with equipment that I have that can help my upper back muscles?

yes, yes, and yes. No worries. We will help you.

vey cool that you included a hoola hoop in your fitness equipment- that's a good one.

You have plenty of stuff. No Worries!

I am going to let some of the girlies give you ideas. But will not leave you hanging if no-one else posts.

for one- do balancing tricept pressups on your ball. And planks. Do them with your feeet on ball, and with hands on ball. It will activate your entire body.

to be honest with you- it is going to be difficult to work your upper back without a lil weight. How about filling a milk jug with dirt, or sand? You may be able to get a good 15 lber that way.

you have kids? doing pullups at the jungle gym, or park.

other peeps will help you. I like fun.

how long can you hoola? test yourself! that is a cool thing.

I've got hulahoop a week ago and since I didn't do it properly (on hips), I bruise myself, haha. I tried it again today and could properly hold it for about 1.5 minutes. Not much, I know, but I am working on it.

ok you can actually do some good exercises on the ball. lay with your back on the ball and your feet on the ground use the bumbellls and starts with them together and open your arms. you can do alot of exercises on the ball. with those wieght try to flip over and go on your stomach and lift the weights to your side and to the front look it up if you don't understand

Hi there, how's it going? What work outs did you decide on? I would focus on cardio (3 days a week 45 minutes) to drop some weight and do 2 full body work-outs. You've got a great motivation so you can do it. Just start and keep going. Dutchy

for some other exercise ideas you can try googling "exercise without equipment".

There is a lot you can do without having to have any equipment.

I agree with Dutchy, you need to do a full body workout with cardio. Oh, and as someone else mentioned, clean up your diet and watch your calories....
