hart cramp

during the run sometimes i feel pain in the hart, like a cramp or something. usually i just continue runing. few times there were quite strong ones. after 3,4 min it disapears.
iam sure its not muscle cramp in between ribs but in the hart. iam 28y old never had a cramp in the hart. wth is it??

Cramping is usually caused by dehydration and low sodium levels in your body so you're probably not taking in enough fluid and salt during your runs.
I think it's most likely that you're cramping somewhere near the heart and not in the heart itself but definately see a doctor if you think there's something wrong in that general area. It's one of those things you can afford to ignore or get wrong as the punishment can be severe

Worst case scenario: you have a congenital heart defect and exertion on the heart is causing pain.

Best case scenario: you have inflammation of your costal cartilages, a condition called costochondritis.

Either way, you should go to your doctor as everyone has recommended. At the very least, you may need an echocardiogram to look for an enlarged ventricular septum or other abnormality, and maybe a treadmill stress test.

Good luck,

It could be a number of things, some of which are minor and some of which are potentially fatal.

And guys, the OP is from Slovenia and his native tongue is not English. He deserves a pass on his spelling.

Well said, I can't believe a guy gets stick for missing off an e in heart in a thread about a potential heart problem :speechless:

Good post. Very knowledgeable.

Isn't a heart cramp the same as a heart attack? Or ventrical fibulation and atrial fibulation? All serious stuff, especially under physical stress:confused:
