Hi,
I was just wondering how much time you guys spend in the gym. I probably spend 3 hours a week doing weight training, but then again I'm 14 so I can only use the gym at school and some small weights at home, also I mainly work on cardio stuff, so running and cycling (I'm a triathlete).
Just wondering how long you guys spend in the olde gym :p

probably about 6.
does out of gym cardio training count?

well my hours aren't listed ....lol

If you include cardio * before* I got hurt I'd say 1.5 hours a day. So I'd spend about 10.5 hours in the gym a week.

If it is just weights, then about 6 hours.

Weights alone take a bit of time namely because I do a lot of them.

I try to do cardio outside though. I truly can't stand treadmills.
Give me a bike and a trail and I'm a happy camper. :)

I hear ya. I keep my Mountain bike in my car and hit trails a couple times a week. Excellent cardio.
(Tomorrow I have to replace a busted tire. Dang Chicken heads)

With Weight Training, Cardio, Aikido, 5 to 7 hours per week.

Damn, that's a lot.

I usually average 30-40 minutes 3x a week during weight training since I've been doing mostly fat loss programs. Cardio usually 2-3x a week goes anywhere from 25-60 minutes depending on type, so on average, between 3 and 4 hours I 'd guess.

0. I use kettlebells and gyms dont have those.

Really? They're a big thing over here right now, my gym even uses them in their ads to get people to sign up (my gym is one of the few that don't actually have them though which is a pain in the butt and blatent false advertising)

They are just catering to all the Ruskies.

I spend maybe 4-6 hours a week in the gym on week where I go every day that I am supposed to.

My record was like 10-12 hours/week split between lifting and jits. I think I kept this up for like a 6-8 mo. On top of my job, I didn't get too much school work done during that time.

I only spend about 3 at the upper limit, I find more than that doesn't always bring much increased benefit. I would stay longer to do cardio if I had the time, or maybe some stability work but as far as the lifts go, more than 30 minutes of heavy lifting and you're pretty much spent IMO

Wow, I guess I'm the only one who spends 10+ hours at the gym, chatting, conditioning work, cardio, seeing how others are getting on etc. The gym is more of a social club for me, I could probably go to another gym and do like an hour a session if i knew no-one but the social aspect is part of going to the gym.

Hey man I appreciate that. I may be asian but I don't eat dog :D. But I heard the word "ladies" so I'm packing my things...maybe some day haha

Nah im like that, my gym is a social place as well. It has a pool table and BBQ area so during summer me and my lady spend a bit of time there with our chums.

+repped. I would suspect some of the others have misunderstated (sic) the hours they spend in the gym. LOL!

For me the gym is not a place to socialize. That's my getaway. That's my time, me and the weights, or the bike, or whatever it is, and that's it. I talk to no one :)
