to Karky:
if i follow the low rep, low set, high weight method, will that get rid of the fat on my arms as well?
isn't xfit more of an endurance type thing than pure strength?
I would not put the cart before the horse. What is your body fat%? What is your goal e.g to gain muscle and lose fat; to retain muscle and lose fat or what? People are giving wacky answers (e.g. crossfit) when it hasn't been established if the OP is n00b to working out or out of shape.I am satisfied with my current arm size but i would like to grow stronger;
what exercises should i do?
how many reps and sets should i do?
Why is so much emphasis being placed on arms today anyway? If you're focusing on lifting heavy **** on big compound movements your arms will generally take care of themselves.
As for getting stronger but not bigger, what's wrong with getting bigger?
I suspect the OP is a n00b just like the guy who was asking about cortisol blockers to stop tummy fat. He probably needs to visit the weight loss area and nutrition stickies.Thats what i don't get.
I never said you wouldn't gain strength with xfit. But it's more for endurance. And what your coach says isn't really something you can apply to this person asking here.
He says he want's strength, so I don't get why anyone would recommend xfit, since that's not exactly pure strength. Granted, we don't really know enough abouthe persons goals to give much recommendation at all, since just "strength" isn't much to work on. But I'm guessing arm strength, which xfit doesn't exactly specialize in.
