Ice baths

I've been doing some google-ing on it and the gym I just joined currently doesnt have the facilities for ice baths. Is there any benefit in having them 20-30 mins after a work out?

I also cant find any solid scientific evidence for them working...there seems to be some contradiction out there.

Anyone any insights?

Do It

Ice baths are great - and the science behind them is simple: cold eases inflammation, therefor ice baths alleviate the pain of sore muscles for most people... like a cold pack that you would use to spot treat painful muscles, post-work out. I know a lot of triathletes and marathon runners who swear by them, too. Draw a bath as cold as you can stand it, put on a tshirt, make a hot cup of tea, and bring a watch. 15-20 minutes should do it. You'll feel like a new person the next day.

as posted above, they are supposed to bring down inflamation, but studies contradict each other, some are for some against, and some say inflamation is actualy needed and is natural,so stopping it can do more harm than good
