Hello Everyone

Just wanted to to say hi to everyone on here. I joined here hoping some one could steer me in the right direction. First Ill share some info about me. Im 22 year old Male. Im around 5'9" and weigh around 155 pounds. I work as a diesel mechanic for caterpillar. I work on 400 ton haul trucks. I work 14.5 hour days. I work 4 on 4off, 4 on 5 off, 5 on 5 off. I alternate from days to nights. I do 2 weeks of days and 2 weeks of nights. Im a big hunter and fisher as well. I do use smoke less tobacco, and drink miller lite. I only drink on 2 of my days off, I dont want the alcohol in my system when im working.
Now my question is I would like to get back into shape. I want to be able to walk several miles up and down hills while hiking or hunting or trying to find that great fishing hole. Do you guys think I should start with cardio workouts, im really lost on what to start and what to do. I dont want big muscles or anything like that, I just want to be healthy and stay at a good weight. Any input will help.
Thanks guys, and happy holidays.

Welcome Cat man do.

Sounds like you're looking for stamina and endurance for hiking. You can get that by setting your treadmill for max incline and walking as fast and as far as you can for an hour. Do that for a couple of weeks and slowly build up. You'll get your hiking stamina in no time.

And get that smokeless tobacco s**t out of your mouth before you get mouth cancer.

Well Ill go buy a treadmill. I wanted one any ways. I do have an elliptical. That I bought the wife.
And Ive been to some steps to quit chewing too. thanks guys

QFT.

Any thoughts about lifting weights??? Its much more fun than just walking and costs a lot less than a treadmill.

BTW you could just walk outside for free..lol. :)
