Ideas for a protein breakfast?

I'm having a really tough time getting any protein in the morning. I have a dietary restriction against dairy and eggs which limits my options for protein. I'm sure for those cooks out there you have no problem eating chicken in the morning, but that will probably mean cooking ahead of time which I'm kind of lazy to get around.

I usually have some cereal (organic, multigrain) or oatmeal with raisins. By the time lunch comes around, I'm starving for a big meal. Then it just drags on to dinner. At the moment, I'd like to get three square meals in me before I even consider moving to the ideal 5-meal-a-day routine.

I've seen some recipes around that include peanut butter, but frankly I'm not too crazy about PB. I wish I could somehow incorporate canadian bacon if I could get by with a little fat in the morning.

Thanks for your help.

Have a protein scoop in your oatmeal.

I concur with the protein+oats. What do you eat for dinner? Just have more of that. Or tuna. I'm afraid choices are pretty slim if you want quick protein in the morning and you can't eat a dozen eggs like

Protien shake with some egg whites mixed in or just whole eggs with some toast, cooked tomato and mushrooms with some cheese and avocado is good.

but he can't eat eggs....

i agree...a protein powder will help you get some protein intake in the AM. tuna, chicken...you're definitely limited w/o being able to intake eggs, cheese or milk...

If you truly have a desire to change your body, you should get "un-lazy".

Do people in North America have an aversion to eating meat for breakfast? Isn't that the obvious choice for protein?

I've eaten buffalo, sirloin, chicken, tuna etc etc etc.....all for breakfast.

Damn good stuff. I went through a period where I couldn't even look at an egg white due to having so many of them every single morning.

I too have gone through stages of eating nothing but meat for my protein source at breakfast.

And I second what Lee said above. If it's worth it, you'll find a way.

I prefer raw protein to protein shakes, but I'll get it any way I can.

At the end of the day, you do what you have to do to make sure you're getting what your body needs.

i don't have an aversion to eating meats for bfast. its more prgrammed in...eggs, cereal, granola = breakfast foods. meats = lunch and dinner

i could eat chicken in the AM...maybe some steak in an omlet.
